The (ugh) Woo Sox shut out the Red Wings, 10-0, on five hits to send Rochester to its fifth straight loss. Logan Verrett gave up five on seven hits (one HR) over three and a 1/3rd innings for his sixth loss. He walked two and struck out one. Josh Palacios extended his on-base streak to twelve games with a double in the 3rd – the only extra-base hit for the Red Wings. He was also hit by a pitch to join Jake Noll (two singles) and Adrián Sanchez (single, walk) as the three Rochester batters to reach base twice.

Harrisburg returned the favor from Friday night by shutting out Altoona, 6-0, on four hits last night. Franklyn Kilome went the first seven, allowing three hits and no walks. He struck out nine while earning his second win. Francys Peguero closed it out with a hit and a walk over the last two innings. The Senators banged out ten hits, with Wilmer Perez, Jake Alu, Wilson Garcia, and John Nogowski each collecting two.

Wilmington vs. Jersey Shore – PPD
Rain washed away Game 5 of the series between the Blue Rocks and the BlueClaws. They’ll make it up in the next series between the two teams (July 26-31)

Fredericksburg pushed its winning streak to a season high of six with a 12-5 smackdown of Delmarva. Andry Lara went the first four innings, allowing four hits and two walks while setting down three on strikes. The win went to Andrew Alvarez with two scoreless innings of relief as he gave up a hit and a walk and fanned two. Yoander Rivero—Fredericksburg’s “Bad” from Vol. 3—got the Reverse Curse of the GBI by leading the FredNats hit column with three singles while Leandro Emiliani added a double and drew three of the twelve walks issued by the Shorebirds pitchers.

They managed to finish the top of the 1st before lightning suspended play in West Palm Beach. They’ll shoot to make it up on July 15th.

The D-Nats throwers were pounded for 20 hits and gave up 12 walks in a 23-8 bitch-slapping by D-Colorado. Every D-Nat batter had at least one hit, with four collecting two in a 14-hit effort.
