DSL Nationals OFF DAY vs. DSL Colorado, 11 a.m.

Rochester Red Wings (37-29, 2nd place, ½ GB, I.L. East)
The Red Wings dropped four of six to the RailRiders to fall into 2nd place last week. With more injuries and ineffectiveness in D.C., there could be a lot more fluctuation and frustration to come, not to mention roster moves.

Harrisburg Senators (28-35, 5th place, 9GB, E.L. Southwest)
Harrisburg also won just two games last week and has to be looking ahead to the reset that comes with the second half, which starts on June 28. In the meantime, the Senators hit the road for two weeks, starting with six against the RubberDucks (their only visit to Akron) and then six against Altoona (the second of three visits this season).

Wilmington Blue Rocks (32-30, 2nd place, 10½ GB, Sally Lg. North)
The Blue Rocks split their eight-game series against the Cyclones to remain two games over .500. That could be in jeopardy as the IronBirds come to Frawley for three before shifting to Aberdeen for three on Friday, which also begins the second half.

Fredericksburg Nationals (32-31, 4th place, C.L. North)
Fredericksburg won just two of six against Myrtle Beach to drop into 4th place, two games out with three to go. Realistically, the FredNats will need to win the next three against the 3rd-place Red Sox and have both the 1st-place Mudcats and the 2nd-place Hillcats lose two of the next three. Given that Lynchburg is playing 6th-place Delmarva and Carolina is playing 5th-place Down East, this seems unlikely. In the event of a tie, the FredNats would hold the tie-breakers with all three teams ahead of them.
The Carolina League Pitcher of the Week Award goes to RHRP Marc Davis, who tossed five scoreless innings of relief last week.

FCL Marlins 2 FCL Nationals 0 (7 inn.)
• Aldonis (L, 0-1) 5IP, 8H, 2R, 2ER, 1BB, 5K
• K. Rodriguez 2IP, 3H, 0R, 0BB, 2K
• Torres 2-2, 2B, PO @ 1B
• A. Cruz 1-3

Lightning ended this one early as the F-Marlins shut out the F-Nats, 2-0, on five hits. Pablo Aldonis went the first five and gave up both F-Marlins runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out five. Kevin Rodriguez put up two goose eggs in relief, giving up three hits, no walks, and fanning two. Ray Torres singled and doubled while Armando Cruz, Angel Gerardo, and Rosimar Quintana each had a single to round out the F-Nats’ five-hit offense.

DSL Nats – OFF DAY
It’s another game against D-Colorado today, as it turns out I had missed the game today on the wonderfully designed DSL site, which still has no team-specific pages aside from rosters.
