Rochester loaded the bases on two singles and a walk with one out before Joey Meneses hit a high-hop grounder that Buffalo’s drawn-in third baseman could not snag cleanly for the 2-1 walk-off win. Stephen Strasburg made his third rehab start and went six innings, allowing one hit and one walk while fanning four. His velocity was diminished but his breaking stuff was not. Strasburg left with a 1-0 lead courtesy of Donovan Casey’s 5th HR. Alberto Baldonado lost that lead with a run let in on two hits in the 8th. The win went to Reed Garrett with a 1-2-3 ninth including two whiffs.
Roster moves: RHP Stephen Strasburg reassigned from Fredericksburg for MLB rehab; RHP Matt Brill reassigned from Harrisburg; RHP Andres Machado, IF Lucius Fox recalled to Washington.

The Senators tied their season high with 17 hits in a 7-3 win over the SeaWolves. Alex Troop made the spot start and shut out Erie for five innings on two hits and a walk while fanning a season-best nine batters. The save went to Reid Schaller who struck out four of five batters, including one with the bases loaded and two down in the 8th. Wilson Garcia singled twice, doubled once, and smacked his fifth HR to drive in three. Jack Dunn matched his four-hit total with three singles and a double and scored three runs. Harrisburg left on 13 runners and did not hit into a double play as they were 4-for-21 with RISP.

Wilmington rallied for three runs with two out in the 5th and saw the game-winner score on a wild pitch in the 8th for a 4-3 win over Greensboro. Seth Shuman ent the first five and allowed a run on a homer and two hits total. He walked none and set down five on strikes. Matt Merrill failed to register a clean outing for the eighth time in nine appearances with two runs allowed over an inning and 2/3rds. Amos Willingham cordero’d around back-to-back singles to open the 9th with the help of a 2-5-3 double play on a failed sacrifice attempt to earn the save, his first. The Blue Rocks managed just five hits, led by two singles from Yasel Antuna and José Sánchez’s two-run homer.

Andry Lara turned in his first quality start ever and his best outing of 2022. He was rewarded with his third loss as the FredNats were shut out, 3-0 on three hits. Lara fanned seven, walked one, and gave up two runs on four hits over six innings. Marc Davis closed out the game with a run on a solo HR and two hits total over the 7th and 8th innings. He did not walk any and fanned four. Alan Berríos singled and doubled while Branden Boisserie singled to account for the three Fredericksburg hits.
