Five Red Wings pitchers combined on a five-hit, 2-0 shutout of the RailRiders. Jefry Rodriguez pitched into the 6th for the first time this season, allowing three hits and… wait, what?… no walks while fanning three. Francisco Perez, Tyler Clippard, and Jordan Weems got the next eight outs to each earn a hold while Carl Edwards Jr. set down the side in the 9th with the 10th and 11th K’s combined for the save. Nick Banks homered while Luis García and Joey Meneses each doubled to pace the Rochester offense.

Taylor Gushue’s second HR of the night broke a 5-5 tie as Harrisburg edged Bowie, 6-5 in the series opener. Starter Ronald Herrera gave up all five BaySox runs (four earned) on seven hits (two HR) and a walk while striking out two. Alex Troop picked up his third win in relief with three scoreless innings, allowing one hit, no walks, and setting down four on strikes. Matt Brill extended his scoreless inning streak to eight while racking up his eighth save with a 1-2-3 ninth. Jake Alu doubled and hit his fourth HR in the last five games while driving in three (as did Gushue) while Jecksson Flores and Wilson Garcia both singled and doubled to power the Senators’ offense.

The Blue Rocks got back to .500 with a 3-2 win extras over the Hot Rods. Wilmington starter Mitchell Parker gave up a solo HR in the 3rd and four hits total over five innings, walking two and fanning four. He was rewarded with a no-decision. Tyler Yankosky blew his second save opportunity in as many appearances with a run let in on a single, hit-by-pitch, a flyout, and a groundout in the 8th. Israel Pineda led the Blue Rocks’ six-hit barrage with a single and a double while Darren Baker plated the gamewinner on a sac fly in the 10th. Zach “Can I Get A Vowel?” Brzykcy picked up the win after striking out the side in the top of the 10th.
