Buffalo scored in each of the first three innings, capped off by a five-run 3rd to hand a 7-5 loss to Rochester. Cory Abbott threw in-game BP with six runs allowed on five hits and three walks over two and 2/3rds innings. Carson Teel let in one inherited runner and one of his own as the first of six relievers to appear in the game. Aided by a hit batsman and a walk, the Red Wings broke out for four runs in the 4th but did not a get a runner into scoring position over the last five innings. Andrew Stevenson doubled twice and drove in two while Donovan Casey went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI to lead the Rochester offense.

Harrisburg Senators (20-24, 5th place, 6GB, E.L. Southwest
The Senators ended a brutal six-game losing streak with a walk-off on Saturday and repeated the feat on Sunday. This week they’re back on the road with a late-morning start against the Seawolves. Richard Guasch appears to have been dropped from the Harrisburg rotation while Luis Reyes apparently has the Polaroids in a very safe place as his replacement. This could, of course, change as it appears that the Nats are starting to shift players around in preparation for the rookie leagues starting up next week (June 6).
Wilmington Blue Rocks (21-21, 2nd place, 9½ GB, Sally Lg. North)
Wilmington has lost its last four, albeit to 1st-place Aberdeen – one of just four teams above .500 in the reconstructed South Atlantic League. This week the Blue Rocks venture south for the first time for the only six games it will play against its “divisional” foe, the Greensboro Grasshoppers. With the team notes still published exclusively on Jimmie Dimmick’s front-lawn sign, we can only speculate as to who might be shifting to the bullpen or heading back to Low-A.
Fredericksburg Nationals (23-21, 3rd place, 2½ GB, C.L. North)
The FredNats will also face its opponent this week for its only series this season as they visit the Woodpeckers in Fayetteville. Mason Denaburg has not been officially confirmed as the starter tonight, though his turn would be today in the rotation. Between Dustin Saenz going on the I.L. and Rodney Theophile seemingly ready for the next level, it’s difficult to predict who the next starting five will be. As speculated in the comments, it would appear that some downward movement may be coming to get more playing time for position players who are not playing every day.
