The Red Wings rallied for all three runs with two out in the 9th as they edged the Red Sox, 3-2 in the midweek matinee. The rally turned a loss into a no-decision for Cade Cavalli, who pitched fairly well through the first four innings but saw his command issues resurface in the 5th and 6th, in which he threw 41 of his 96 pitches over the last 1⅔ innings. A one-out walk by Lucius Fox got the comeback started as Cole Freeman singled, Andrew Stevenson doubled, and Luis García singled with two outs. Jordan Weems worked around a single in the 9th to earn the save, his third.

Richmond outhomered Harrisburg 3-1 as the Flying Squirrels doubled up the Senators 10-5 to extend Harrisburg’s losing streak to four. Richard Guasch was thrashed for eight runs on eight hits, including a grand slam and a solo HR in the 2nd, and two walks over four and 2/3rds innings. He struck out a career-high of nine while taking his fourth loss. Justin Connell broke up the no-hit bid with a two-out double in the 7th and back-to-back doubles by Mitch Longo and Jake Alu ended the shutout in the 8th. The Sens loaded the bases in the 9th on walks and scored twice on an error but finished with just four hits total, though three were for extra bases.

Michael Cuevas lost for the fourth time in six starts with four runs let in on eight hits and a walk over four innings. He struck out three. Wilmington rallied for two in the 9th on Onix Vega’s second single of the night and doubles by Jeremy Ydens and Darren Baker before Yasel Antuna struck out to end it with the tying run on 2nd. Omar Meregildo led the Blue Rocks’ attack with a double, two walks, and a home run.

Starter Bryan Caceres picked up his third win, tossing the first six innings with all three Cannon Ballers hits allows, three walks, a hit batsman, and five whiffs. Andrew Alvarez walked two but struck out eight of 11 batters faced over the last three frames to close it out and earn his first save of the season. Leandro Emiliani walked, doubled, and singled to drive in two of the three FredNats runs, with Sammy Infante delivering the third on an RBI single in the 6th.
