Donovan Casey’s 3rd-inning HR would prove to be enough for a 1-0, rain-shortened win by the Red Wings. Jackson Tetreault shut out the IronPigs for five innings on two hits and three walks while setting down five on strikes, which earned him his third win. Alberto Baldonado retired the side in order in the 6th, fanning two, to get his third save. Andrew Stevenson also singled to round out the two-hit effort by Rochester.

Portland shut out Harrisburg, 4-0 on five hits to stop a two-game winning streak. It was the third shutout of the Senators since May 8. Newcomer Franklyn Kilome took the brunt of Sea Dogs’ bite, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk over three innings. He struck out five. Dondrei Hubbard singled, doubled, and walked while Gilbert Lara walked and singled. They were the only two Harrisburg batters to reach base more than once as the Sens went 0-for-9 with RISP and left on nine baserunners.

The Blue Rocks took advantage of multiple miscues in the 8th and a failed squeeze bunt in the 10th to turn a 4-0 deficit into a 5-4 win in 10 innings, breaking a two-game losing streak. Mitchell Parker made it through four innings with two runs allowed on a HR and two hits overall. He walked two and struck out three. Zach Brzykcy won for the fifth time in relief, getting the last five outs including two K’s. Cole Daily walked and singled three times, including a bunt single in the 10th. Yasel Antuna laid down a sacrifice to move up Daily and the free runner to 2nd and 3rd and Omar Meregildo lofted a flyball to the BlueClaws CF, who laid out for it but couldn’t keep it in his glove, turning a sac fly into a game-winning single. Drew Mendoza also homered to tie the game at 4-4 in the 8th after Jersey balked and wild-pitched two runners ahead of him.

Sammy Infante homered twice as Fredericksburg edged Delmarva, 5-4, and stopped a five-game slide. Andry Lara walked six but allowed just two runs on four hits while striking out three for his first win of ’22. Tyler Schoff let in an unearned run over the next two for the hold while Jose Ferrer got the save despite giving four singles in the 9th, aided and better by Jacob Young throwing out a runner at the plate on a would-be two-run single to tie it at 5-5. Ferrer struck out the last batter with the tying run on 3rd. Viandel Peña singled twice as did Steven Williams to join Infante in the multiple-hit category as the FredNats racked up 13 hits and three walks but were 0-for-9 with nine runners left on base.
