A 4-0 lead after a 1/2 inning was too little support for Jackson Rutledge, as Delmarva got six runs against him to take their fourth straight over Fredericksburg, 6-4. Rutledge was savaged for six hits over two and 2/3rds innings. He gave up a walk, threw two wild pitches, and struck out four. The FredNats ‘pen combined five and 1/3rd scoreless innings of relief, but the Shorebirds pitchers were equal to the task as they put up eight straight goose eggs after the 1st. Jacob Young singled twice, scored, and swiped his 16th bag (T2nd in the Carolina League) while Allan Berríos smacked a three-run HR in his third game back in the lineup.
