Buffalo broke a 4-4 deadlock with two in the 9th to hand Rochester its second straight loss, 6-4. Aaron Sanchez went the first five and gave up three runs on five hits. He walked two and struck out four. The ends did not justify the Weems as Jordan retired just one of four batters faced in the 9th, with two coming around to score to take the loss. Luis García singled twice, scored twice, and tripled while Jake Noll drove in two while going 2-for-5 with a double to lead the Red Wings offense. Roster move: RHP Sterling Sharp reassigned from XST.

Steve Fuentes’s 2021 woes continue in 2022 as he was dinged for six runs in a 7-1 Senators loss. The 24-y.o. has yet to throw a quality start since his suspension in 2019, throwing 79 pitches (46 for strikes) in four innings while walking four and fanning five in his season debut. Harrisburg managed eight hits, with Jackson Cluff (single, double) and Taylor Gushue (single, walk) the only two Senators to reach base twice.

A three-run rally put Wilmington on top 6-4 halfway through, but the ‘pen returned the favor in the 6th to give Aberdeen the 7-6 victory. Blue Rocks starter Seth Shuman was lifted after an inning and 2/3rds and 48 pitches as he let in two runs on four hits and a walk while fanning two. The loss went to Gilbert Chu, with the aforementioned three runs allowed on four hits and two walks. He struck out two. Kevin Strohschein, José Sánchez, and Israel each went deep, accounting for five of the six Wilmington runs scored.

The Mudcats got two runs early, but the FredNats pitchers settled down to make those the only runs in a 6-2 win. Bryan Caceres finished with those two runs on three hits. He walked none and struck the obligatory eight for Fredericksburg starters thus far. Brady House had his third multi-hit game while extending his hitting streak to four games with two singles and a double. He drove in two, as did Viandel Peña (2-for-4) and Jeremy De La Rosa with his first HR of the season.
