Six Rochester pitchers combined on a three-hit shutout as the Red Wings won their fourth straight, 4-0. Jefry Rodriguez went the first three and struck out five and walked none. The win went to Sam Clay with one hit over two innings with no walks and three whiffs. Four more relievers put in an inning as they audition for the big club appear to be on a program to put in the work they didn’t get in Florida. Joey Meneses led the Rochester offense with two singles and a homer while Donovan Casey and Trey Barrera both went 2-for-4. Roster moves: RHP Reed Garrett activated from the T.I.L.

The Curve bent the Senators for four runs in the 3rd and cruised to a 9-1 win. Richard Guasch got the start but went just three innings, giving those four runs over three innings on six hits and a walk while fanning three. The offense mustered just five hits, but avoided a shutout with the help of an error and a walk as Jecksson Flores singled in K.J. Harrison for the one hit in six RISP chances.

Wilmington overcame an early 1-0 deficit with three in the 1st and never looked back as they took the front end of the doubleheader, 5-1. Mitchell Parker went the first four and allowed a run on two hits and three walks while striking out five. The “W” went to Lucas Knowles with two scoreless innings. Yasel Antuna made his regular-season debut in LF and went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI, a line matched by DH Omar Meregildo.

In the nightcap, the Blue Rocks’ 7th-inning rally fell short as both Cole Daily and Cody Wilson struck out with the tying run on second. Wilmington left on six total and was 0-for-7 with RISP, with the lone scoring on an error. Michael Cuevas went the first four innings and allowed both Cyclones runs on one hit and four walks. He struck out four. Malvin Peña tossed two scoreless and Ike Schlabach one to keep things close.

FredNats actually trailed 3-1 in this one before scoring in five straight innings to roast the Shorebirds, 18-5. Dustin “I Saw The” Saenz was one out short of qualifying for the win, allowing three runs on six hits (one HR) and a walk while fanning a career-best eight. Riggs Threadgill got the last out in the 5th and tossed a scoreless 6th before getting dinged for two in the 7th. He was nevertheless credited with the win. Brady “He’s A Brick” House reached base four times with a walk, two singles, and his first HR of 22 – a three-run shot to highlight a five-run 5th. He was lifted for a pinch hitter in the 7th, as manager Jake Lowery went to the bench to give them some playing time. Jacob Young, Jeremy De La Rosa, and T.J. White also had three hits as Fredericksburg pounded out 17 hits total, with every starter reaching base at least once.
