After falling behind 8-1 after four and 10-6 after eight, the Red Wings got the tying runs into scoring position with one out but came short for a 10-8 loss. Spot starter Logan Verrett saw his hand crystal turn to red after just two innings, with three runs let in on three hits (one HR) and two walks. Ben Braymer fared even worse, as the IronPigs smelted him for five runs over an inning and a 1/3rd. Joey Meneses led the Rochester 12-hit parade with four singles and drove in four while Jake Noll also reached base four times with a single, a double, a walk, and a hit-by-pitch.

Back-to-back-to-back singles following a one-out error in the 8th turned a 3-2 lead into a 4-3 loss for Harrisburg. The meltdown saddled Alberto Guerrero with a blown-save-loss and turned a “W” into a “ND” for Steven Fuentes. The 24-y.o. Panamanian spun a quality start of two runs on six hits (one HR) and two walks while setting down two on strikes. Taylor Gushue’s 3rd HR accounted for all three Senators runs as they were unable to convert the four singles and three stolen bases into a fourth run.

After just five baserunners through the first eight innings, the Blue Rocks had four consecutive batters reach base in the 9th for a 3-2 walkoff win. Darren Baker led off the inning with a single, Yasel Antuna and Omar Meregildo both walked to load the bases and Drew Mendoza capped the comeback with a single up the middle. Tyler Yankosky cordero’d around two hits in the top of the 9th to pick up the win. Starter Seth Shuman notched his first quality start of ’22 with six innings of one-run ball on two hits and a walk and came away with a no-decision. Antuna homered in the 1st, walked and stole two bases in the 7th, and scored on a wild pitch to lead the five-hit, four-walk offense. T.J. White’s solo shot in the 8th proved to be the difference as Fredericksburg extended its win streak to four with a 6-5 decision against Kannapolis. Dustin Saenz made it through five but was stung for three runs on five hits (one HR) and a walk. He struck out seven. Riggs Threadgill was the beneficiary of White’s second big fly as he picked up the win while Jose Ferrer worked around a single in the 8th and a double in the 9th to earn the save. Sammy Infante also homered while White and Brenden Boisserie both went 2-for-4 with an RBI to pace the FredNats offense. Brady House’s two-run single in the 5th extended his on-base streak to 14 and his RBI total to 19.
