Whether Cade Cavalli was rushed to AAA is becoming less a question and more an observation as Buffalo stampeded Rochester, 10-1. The beleaguered pitcher was charged with five runs on eight hits over four-plus innings for his first loss in 2022 and sixth in eight starts at AAA. If you’re looking for a “yeah, but” then ignore four straight hits to start the 5th before Matt LeCroy lifted Cavalli, down 3-1, and focus on Jace Fry coughing up a two-out grand slam. The Red Wings offense was limited to six singles (three by Luis García) and a double (Nick Banks) while going 1-for-7 with RISP and leaving eight men on base.

The Senators couldn’t hold an early 2-0 lead and lost in extras, 4-3 to the Sea Dogs. Ronald Herrera posted the first quality start for organization, with two runs allowed on four hits, a walk, and a hit batsman over six innings. He struck out seven and was rewarded with a no-decision. The loss went to veteran Ramon Santos with two runs allowed (one earned) on two hits and a walk while fanning four over the last two innings. Justin Connell went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored while Jake Alu drove in two with a single in the 2nd and a groundout in the 10th to pace Harrisburg’s six-hit, no-walk offense.

Wilmington strafed Aberdeen pitchers for four-spots in both the 5th and 6th innings en route to a 13-3 smackdown. Mitchell Parker picked up his first win with a run let in on three hits, three walks, and six whiffs. Omar Meregildo racked four hits, five RBI, and ten total bases to lead the Blue Rocks’ 15-hit parade, followed by Cody Wilson with four RBI, a double, and his second HR since 2019.

Brady House waited until his last at-bat to extend his hitting streak to six games. But the 18-y.o. made it really count by driving in two to give the FredNats a 7-6 walkoff win against the Mudcats. T.J. White also homered as Fredericksburg took advantage of five walks (three in the 9th) to score seven times on just seven hits. Brendan Collins got the start but didn’t make it out of the 2nd, with two runs allowed on two hits and three walks over an inning and 2/3rds on 40 pitches. The win went to the only reliever not to give up a run as Jose Ferrer struck out two while throwing two perfect innings in the 8th and 9th.
