Patrick Corbin pitched five full innings and was charged with four unearned runs on the second of two (2) errors by 1B Josh Bell. He gave up two singles in between a strikeout that should have been the third out before surrendering an Earl Weaver Special to fall behind, 4-0. He walked two and struck out six.
Mason Thompson was the first man out of the ‘pen and cordero’d around a leadoff walk and a two-out single before getting a popup to end the 6th inning.
Joan Adon came on in the 7th and finished the game on a sour note, as he was dinged for the remaining four runs on four hits (two HR), one walk, and a Victor Robles. He struck out three.
For the second straight game, only NRIs and OG’s came off the bench.
Tomorrow afternoon, the Nats make the long road trip to the visitor’s dugout and clubhouse to face their co-tenants, the Astros. The game can be heard on MLB Audio.
