Cards Fold Nats, 7-3

A three-run double erased an early 2-0 lead in the 5th as the Cards handed the Nats their third loss in four spring training games, 7-3.

Erick Fedde, one of 17 or so candidates for Washington’s #4 or #5 spot in the rotation, got the start and tossed two scoreless innings. He gave up two singles, a walk, and hit a batter while facing nine batters.

Following scoreless innings by Sean Doolittle and Carl Edwards Jr., Francisco Perez gave up the aforementioned three runs on three hits and two walks for the blown save. The 24-y.o. southpaw retired just two of seven batters faced.

Austin Voth was charged with the loss on a single, two wild pitches, and a sacrifice fly in the 7th.

Tomorrow, the Nats will travel to Jupiter, FL to face the Marlins for an afternoon game, which can be heard on MLB Audio with both teams broadcasting. Patrick Corbin is expected to start for Washington while Miami has yet to name a starter.
