The Red Wings remain 0-for-September as they dropped their seventh straight to the RailRiders, 4-1. Jefry Rodriguez made his second start since being outrighted and tossed four scoreless, allowing two hits and two walks while fanning three. The loss went to Nick Wells, who gave up a two-run HR in the bottom of the 6th to snap a 0-0 tie. Jake Noll’s two-out single followed by Mike Ford’s double in the 8th spoiled the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre shutout bid. Noll and Ford both went 2-for-4; the rest of the lineup went 3-for-27 with no walks and 10 strikeouts (11 total). Roster moves: C-1B Raudy Read activated from 60-Day I.L.

Gerardo Carrillo dropped his third decision as the BaySox carved him up for three runs on four hits (one HR) and three walks over four innings. (The law firm of) Pearson McMahan followed and walked three and gave up three unearned runs over an inning and a 1/3rd. Ian Sagdal hit a two-run HR in the 9th while Gilbert and Jakson Reetz both went 2-for-4 to lead the Senators’ offense. Israel Pineda’s two-run double capped off a three-run 5th as the Blue Rocks shot down the IronBirds, 6-2. Evan Lee tied his season/career-high of nine whiffs while throwing five innings of one-run ball on five hits and walk to even his won-loss record at 3-3. Ricardo Méndez also connected for a two-run two-bagger in the 8th to put the game out of reach. Drew Millas reached base three times with a walk and two singles while Jack Dunn and Justin Connell both had a pair of safeties in four trips to the plate to power Wilmington’s 12-hit attack. Fredericksburg blew leads of 3-1 and 6-2 but got a break in the 9th as a wild pitch sent in the go-ahead run and the bullpen survived the bottom of the 9th for a 7-6 win, breaking a seven-game losing streak. Jackson Rutledge made his second straight turn through the rotation with a run let in on a walk, double, and a sac fly over three innings. Jacob Young singled with two out, stole second, stopped at third after Darren Baker’s IF single, then scored the deciding run on the aforementioned wild pitch. The “W” went to Tyler Schoff, who cordero’d through the 9th with a leadoff single and two-out walk before rolling a 4-3 grounder to end it. Both teams led by five but only one didn’t blow it as the FCL Astros didn’t lose to the FCL Nationals, 11-9. Miguel Gomez got the start but dug a 5-0 hole after three innings, allowing three hits (one HR) and a walk while striking out five. Jose Mercedes retired just one of seven batters faced and left with the bases loaded. Peyton Glavine sobered ’em up with a walk, a single, and a grounder that the F-Nats couldn’t turn into two outs. Andry Arias drew three of the eight walks issued and smacked a three-run HR while Will Frizzell and Daniel Marte both went 2-for-4 as the F-Nats left on 11 baserunners while going 4-for-18 with RISP.

Play was halted due to lightning in the middle of the 2nd. They’ll shoot to finish this when the two teams meet next Monday, presumably in West Palm Beach.
