Rochester vs. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre – PPD
It was the 11th postponement of 2021 for Rochester, as they’ll make up yesterday’s rainout with a twinbill against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Bowie 2 Harrisburg 0 – GM. 1
• Adon (L, 1-2) 5IP, 3H, 2R, 2ER, 3BB, 7K, 2WP
• Troop 1IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 0K
• Mercer 2-3
• Alu 2-3

Bowie scored both runs without a hit as they handed Harrisburg its 15th shutout loss, 2-0. Joan Adon issued two of his three walks in his 5th and final inning and unleashed one wild pitch to put a runner at third with one out, enabling a sac fly to score the first run and move the other runner to third… where he was able to score on another wild pitch. It was Adon’s second loss at AA. Jordy Mercer and Jake Alu both went 2-for-3 while Jakson Reetz and Cole Freeman rounded out the grand total of six singles for the Sens offense.

Bowie 1 Harrisburg 0 – GM. 2
• M. Sanchez (L, 4-8) 5IP, 2H, R, ER, 0BB, 6K, HR
• Cronin 1⅔ IP, 0H, 0R, BB, 2K
• Harrison 2-2, 2B
• Canning 1-3
• 0-4 RISP; 7 LOB
• 16th shutout loss

SSDG for the Senators who had but three hits and none with RISP as they were swept by the BaySox, 1-0 in the nightcap. Mario Sanchez gave up the Bowie run on a home run and a single over five innings. He walked none and struck out six and was rewarded with his eighth loss. Matt Cronin issued a walk and struck out two over an inning and 2/3rds as play was halted with two outs in the top of the 6th. K.J. Harrison singled and doubled while Gage Canning singled to account for the three (3) Harrisburg hits. The Senators also drew four walks. Roster moves: IF Jordy Mercer assigned from Washington for MLB rehab.

Aberdeen 9 Wilmington 3
• Parker (L, 0-5) 5IP, 9H, 5R, 5ER, BB, 5K, HR
• Stainbrook 2IP, 0H, 0R, BB, K
• Arruda 2-4, R, HR, 2RBI
• Meregildo 1-3, R, BB

A four-run 2nd would be all Aberdeen would need to beat Wilmington, but the Ironbirds made sure of it with five more runs over the next seven for a 9-3 win over Wilmington. Mitchell Parker dropped his fifth decision and 12th overall (tied with Karlo Seijas for the organizational lead) as he was strafed for five runs on nine hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out five. Jake Arruda broke up the shutout bid with a two-run HR in the 3rd while Omar Mergildo scored on a groundout in the 4th for the third and final Blue Rocks run.

Fredericksburg 5 Delmarva 3
• Theophile 4IP, 4H, 3R, 3ER, 2BB, 6K, HR
• Knowles (W, 2-1) 3IP, 1H, 0R, BB, 4K
• Kirian (SV, 1) 2IP, 1H, 0R, 0BB, 1K
• Barley 2-4, R, 2B, 3RBI
• Young 2-4, 2R, 2B
• Baker 2-4, 3B

The F-Nats got the breaks again as they scored four in the 3rd to snap a 1-1 tie and held on for a 5-3 win over the Shorebirds. Rodney Theophile went the first four but was ineffective – all three Delmarva runs on four hits (one HR) and two walks, though he did strike out six. Lucas Knowles came on for the next three and kept the Shorebirds, um, at bay with one hit, one walk, and four whiffs. Michael Kirian made his Low-A debut and earned the save as he retired six of seven. Jordy Barley’s three-run double combined with a throwing error—the second of the inning—accounted for the four-run rally. Barley, Jacob Young, and Darren Baker each went 2-for-4 and combined for two doubles, two runs, and a triple. The rest of the lineup went 0-for-23.
