Rochester dropped its fifth straight to Worcester as the WooSox shut out the Red Wings, 3-0 on four hits. Cade Cavalli lost for the second time at AA Despite a quality start of two runs on five hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out four. Jake Noll’s 25th double was the fourth and final hit on the night as Victor Robles, who led off the 8th with the third Rochester hit and stole both second and third base, couldn’t deliver either Noll or Ali Castillo from second and third base respectively to strand the ninth and tenth batters on the night. Roster moves: RHP Jhon Romero reassigned from Harrisburg; LHP Josh Rogers added to 40-man, recalled to Washington.

Aldrem Corredor and Jacob Rhinesmith both smacked two-run HRs to lead the Senators past the SeaWolves, 8-1. Jackson Tetreault notched his fourth quality start while picking up his fifth win as he gave up a solo HR and six hits total over six innings. Carlos Navas (2IP) and Reid Schaller (1IP) combined for three scoreless innings and seven whiffs to finish the game. Cole Freeman reached base four times with three singles and a walk while Rhinesmith doubled, homered, and walked twice to power the Harrisburg offense. Roster moves: IF Jake Alu activated from the 7-Day I.L.

Three Wilmington pitchers combined to shut out Brooklyn, 4-0 on three hits. Cole Henry made his second start since returning from the IL, going the first five innings with two hits, two walks, and six strikeouts. Richard Gausch went the next three, giving up a hit and three walks while fanning three. Francys Peguero closed it out with a 1-2-3 ninth. Junior Martina doubled in one while Drew Millas drove in two to highlight the Blue Rocks’ four-run 4th.

A seven-run 4th broke open a one-run game as the F-Nats lost 14-2 to extend their losing streak to five games. Matt Merrill got knocked from the box in the 4th as he was strafed for seven runs on seven hits and three walks to lose for the second time. Leandro Emiliani reached base three times with a single, a two-run HR, and a walk to lead the Fredericksburg offense.

Fredericksburg’s pitching was much better in the second game, but the offense was the same… and that wsn’t enough to prevent a 2-1 walkoff to give Salem a doubleheader sweep. Gilberto Chu started and let in the first Red Sox run on a homer to lead off the game but settled down to finish with one run over five IP, with three hits total, and three walks. He struck out two. Brendan Collins loaded the bases with one out in the 7th with two walks and a single. A slow roller to third led to a forceout at the plate but the second single got the job done for a 2-1 decision for the F-Nats’ sixth consecutive loss.

The FCL Nats scored in six of eight “ups” as they won their third straight, 16-7 over the FCL Mets. Michael Kirian tossed two scoreless innings to start, allowing one hit, and striking out one. The win went Matt Cronin, who struck out the side in his only inning of work. Steven Williams singled twice, walked twice, and hit two HRs to drive in five runs. Jackson Coutts singled twice, doubled twice, and walked once but also drove in five to lead the 16-hit (six-HR) five-walk assault.
