Rochester lived by the longball as all five runs came via the home run in a 5-3 win over Buffalo. Cade Cavalli notched his first AAA win with a line of three runs on six hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out four. Three Red Wings relievers combined for four scoreless innings and eight whiffs. Rafael Bautista got the party started with an Earl Weaver special in the bottom of the 2nd, his fifth of the season while Raudy Read broke a 3-3 tie with a two-run shot in the bottom of the 5th – his fourth for Rochester and sixth overall. For reasons poorly explained, the Senators were batting last on the road and it was to their advantage as they walked it off in the 7th for a 4-3 win. Mario Sanchez allowed all three Fisher Cats runs on eight hits and a walk. He struck out five while registering his eighth quality start. Harrisburg drew three walks in the 7th and cashed them in with a Jacob Rhinesmith sacrifice fly and a two-out, two-run double by Gilbert Lara, which was the fourth of four hits by the Sens. Francys Peguero picked up the win as he worked around a leadoff single, a steal, and a Victor Robles in the 7th.

Playoff-bound Bowling Green got its 80th win with a 10-2 decision over Wilmington. Alfonso Hernández took his fourth loss as he let in two unearned runs on two hits and a walk over three innings. Gilberto Chu took the brunt of the Hot Rods beating, giving up six runs over the next two and 2/3rds innings. Ricardo Méndez doubled, homered, drove in a run, and scored ahead of Israel Pineda’s RBI single to lead the Blue Rocks’ five-hit, one-walk barrage.
Lynchburg vs. Fredericksburg – PPD
The storms that had cellphones buzzing with flash flood warnings postponed last night’s game in Fredericksburg. They’ll make it up with a twi-night doubleheader tomorrow. Roster moves: RHP Karlo Seijas activated from Development List; RHP Cole Quintanilla placed on 7-Day I.L.
