Daniel Palka and Keibert Ruiz both homered twice and drove in three while waiver claim Mike Ford delivered an Earl Weaver special to highlight Rochester’s four-run 7th that broke open the game. The new guys drove in five while Jackson Tetreault turned in a quality start to power Harrisburg past Hartford, 6-1. Tetreault allowed the lone Yard Goats run on seven hits and a walk while striking out five to get his fourth “W” of the year. Mario Sanchez and (the law firm of) Pearson McMahan combined for three scoreless to close it out. Armond Upshaw singled, homered, scored twice, drove in three, and stole a base in his AA debut while Jacob Rhinesmith, brought up a week ago, hit his first AA homer: A two-run shot that capped off a three-run 5th for the Senators. A six-run 2nd would not be enough for the Blue Rocks pitchers to work with as they blew a 6-2 lead and fell in extras, 9-8. Steven Fuentes rehabbed for four innings, allowing three runs on five hits (one HR) over four innings. Todd Peterson coughed up the tying runs with a two-run HR surrendered in the 8th to get the blown save. Davis Moore and his mustache took the loss for the second straight appearance, as the 23-y.o. let in the free runner in the 12th and 13th innings while giving up two hits and a walk. Wilmington racked up 11 hits, with Ricardo Méndez, Jack Dunn, Yasel Antuna, and Drew Mendoza each singling twice. Drew Millas connected for the Blue Rocks’ only extra-base hit. A seven-run 8th by Carolina ended any hopes for a comeback win as Fredericksburg fell for the seventh straight game, 11-2. Michael Cuevas lost his 6th game while giving up three over five on three hits, two walks, and a Victor Robles. He struck out five. Leif Strom took the brunt of the beating, allowing the aforementioned seven runs on three hits, two hit batsmen, and one walk in his sole inning. Five of the runs were unearned “thanks” to a pair of two-out errors by Viandel Peña. Jacob Young led the F-Nats offense with a double and two singles while Jeremy De La Rosa singled, walked twice, and stole a base. Brady “He’s A Brick” House connected for a grand slam in the bottom of the 7th to turn a 9-0 shutout into a 9-4 smackdown by the FCL Mets. Cole Henry made his second appearance since emerging from witness protection and let in an unearned run on three hits over three innings. He walked none and struck out three while losing for the second time. Trade pickup Aldo Ramirez made his first appearance for the Nats, tossing a 1-2-3 inning in the 4th. House also walked in the 4th and singled in the 6th to lead the Nats’ six-hit, six-walk offense. No word on whether he was put on a bus to Miami instead of West Palm Beach following the game.
