Rochester Red Wings (39-53, 5th, 17GB, Northeast Div. AAA East)
Rochester took five of seven from Lehigh Valley to pull within four games of fourth place and keep ahead of Syracuse, which has gone 8-2 in its last 10 games. The Red Wings and S-Mets face off for seven this week in Syracuse, with a doubleheader scheduled for tomorrow.

Harrisburg Senators (36-59, 6th, 23GB, Southwest Div. AA Northeast)
The last-place Senators broke even against the first-place RubberDucks last week, including a 2-1 win in 10 innings on Sunday. This week they’ll face the Yard Goats at City Isle for the one and only series between the two teams in 2021.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (43-52, 3rd, 17GB, North Division High-A East)
Wilmington won four of five against Aberdeen to reclaim 3rd place in its division but did not gain ground on 1st place. This week, they return home for six against Jersey Shore for the fourth and final series between the two teams. The Blue Rocks have won 11 of the 18 previous games against the BlueClaws.

Fredericksburg Nationals (33-63, 4th, 24GB, North Division, Low-A East
A six-game losing streak has dropped the F-Nats 30 games below .500 after they’d split the first series and won the second series in August and appeared poised to match or beat July’s tally of 12 wins. This week they host the Mudcats for six games for the only six games against Carolina.

FCL Nationals 4 FCL Marlins 0 – GM. 1
• M. Gomez 3IP, 2H, 0R, 0BB, 3K

Three FCL Nats pitchers combined on a three-hit, 4-0 shutout of the FCL Marlins. Nineteen-year-old Miguel Gomez went the first three and gave up two hits, no walks, and struck out three. Twelfth-round pick Andrew Alvarez put up two innings of no-hit relief for the win while 17th-Rd. pick Brendan Collins closed it out with one hit, no walks, and three whiffs for the save. Andry Arias homered twice while the Nats’ #1 pick Brady “He’s A Brick” House went 2-for-3 in his pro debut.

A two-out, two-run error was the difference in the, um, “aftercap” as the FCL Nationals completed the doubleheader sweep with a 4-2 win over the FCL Marlins. Bryan Caceres tossed three scoreless to start while Peyton Glavine (if you have to ask, hey there newbie!) picked up the win in relief. Darren Baker (same) was the sole batter to reach base twice, collecting a single and a double as the FCL Nats collected seven total, with just one coming in ten RISP chances. Roster moves: OF T.J. White (5th Rd. pick) assigned from Washington.
