Buffalo got into the Rochester ‘pen and this time, they faltered: three runs in the first inning to break open a 1-0 game. The Red Wings rallied for three in the 7th make things close (4-3), but the’pen wasn’t up to it again with one run let in in the 7th and another in 8th for a 6-3 loss. Sterling Sharp went the first three and gave up the first Bison run on four hits and a walk, but gave way to Wander Suero in the 4th. Suero got torched for three runs on four hits. Keibert Ruiz doubled and singled while Ali Castillo singled twice to lead the Rochester offense. Roster moves: RHP Tanner Rainey optioned from Washington.

Tim Cate’s return from the I.L. was not great: Five hits, three walks, and an Earl Weaver special in the course of 10 batters over an inning-plus as the Fisher Cats shut out the Senators, 7-0 on six hits. It’s the 14th time this season Harrisburg has been blanked. Rhett Wiseman singled twice and doubled once while Donovan Casey singled twice and Aldrem Corredor, um, rounded out the Harrisburg hit column with a single and drew the only walk. The rest of the lineup went 0-for-21 with seven strikeouts. Roster moves: LHP Tim Cate activated from the 7-Day I.L.; Jackson Cluff placed on the 3-Day T.I.L.

Wilmington rallied for five in the bottom of the 8th for a 7-4 sportswriter’s win and a three-game winning streak. Seth Shuman turned in a quality start of six innings of one run allowed on four hits and one walk. He lost the “W” when Zach Brzkcy was spun for three runs on five hits and a walk in the top of the 8th. It was the first blown save for Brzkcy and his fourth win. Francys Peguero worked around a two-out single in the 9th to earn the save. Armond Upshaw was a homer shy of the cycle as he went 4-for-5 with a double and a triple and stole three bases while newcomer Drew Millas singled twice and picked off a runner at first base. Roster moves: OF Jeremy Ydens, C Andrew Pratt activated from 7-Day I.L.; RHPs Jordan Bocko, Kyle Hinton released.

Salem vs. Fredericksburg – PPD
The F-Nats and Red Sox were rained out on Friday night. They’ll make it up this afternoon with a twinight doubleheader.

FCL Cardinals vs. FCL Nationals – PPD
Both games of the doubleheader were rained out. They’ll shoot for two more doubleheaders—one on the 19th, the other on the 25th—to make them up. Roster moves: RHP Steven Fuentes assigned from Rochester for MiLB rehab.
