The Red Wings’ modest three-game win streak came to halt as the IronPigs won the series finale, 6-1. Tyler Eppler was lit up for four runs on two homers and seven hits total over four innings for his ninth loss in 19 appearances. He walked none and struck out three. Rochester was limited to six hits and three walks, with Rafael Bautista’s 10th double accounting for its sole run. Roster moves: OF Andrew Stevenson optioned from Washington; RHPs Kyle McGowin, Austin Voth rehab assignments ended.

Harrisburg got single runs in the 9th and 10th to tie it at 1-1 and win the games, 2-1, and earn a 3-3 split of the six-game series. Cade Cavalli tossed five scoreless innings, allowing one hit and two walks while striking out four. He threw 80 pitches over five innings. The win went to Andrew Lee, though he gave up an unearned run in the 8th with the “help” of a passed ball by Brady Lindsly and an error by Gilbert Lara. Cole Freeman took Lee off the hook with his 5th HR to lead odd the 9th while Lara and Lindsly got their redemption with back-to-back singles in the 10th to plate the free runner. Bryan Dobzanski got three groundouts in the 10th to earn the save, his first of the season.

The finale between the Blue Rocks and IronBirds was rained out. It will be made up with a doubleheader on Wednesday, September 7th.

The F-Nats were dropped 10-2 in the series finale to complete the six-game sweep – the third of the season and second by the Shorebirds. Karlo Seijas reclaimed his lead in the organizational loss column with seven runs let in on five hits (two HR) and two walks. He struck out one over two and a 1/3rd innings. Bryan Peña’s August resurgence continued as the 21-y.o. southpaw stranded two while getting the last two outs in the 3rd, then put up three goose eggs to run his scoreless innings streak to 10⅔. Junior Martina and Jaden Fein both went 2-for-4 to lead Fredericksburg’s eight-hit, three-walk offense.
FCL Nationals (14-21, 5th Place FCL East, 6GB)
After a 2-3 week, the FCL Nats remain in the FCL East cellar but are still within striking range at six games back, though with 23 games left (weather permitting) it’d take quite a hot streak. Two doubleheaders are on the slate for this week, starting today with a pair against the 4th place FCL Marlins and another twinbill on Wednesday against the 3rd place FCL Cardinals.
DSL Nationals (13-13, 3nd place DSL South, 6GB)
Tropical storms limited the D-Nats to just two games last week, both of which they lost to fall to .500. If the fields are playable, they’ll have two today and one tomorrow against the D-Angels, off on Wednesday, then a pair against the DSL Mets1 on Thursday and Friday, and a one-off against the D-White Sox on Saturday.
