With two out in the 9th, Rochester got a walk and back-to-back singles for a 2-1 walkoff win over Syracuse. New guy Lane Thomas delivered the kill shot and scored the first run in the 6th, with Daniel Palka pushing him across to break up the Star Trek convention on the Frontier Field scoreboard. Alas, despite six scoreless innings with four hits, no walks, and four whiffs, Sean Nolin was denied the “W” when Tanner Rainey did his 2021 thing and coughed up the tying run in the 8th. The win went to Aaron Barrett instead as the veteran minor-league reliever set the side down in order in the top of the 9th.

Defending AA Northeast Pitcher of the Week Cade Cavalli did his part to defend his title while the Sens batters got him justenough offense (Wait. What?) to edge the SeaWolves, 3-2. Cavalli labored through five innings (100 pitches) but gave up just one run on three hits, three walks, and eight strikeouts as he picked up his second AA win. Andrew Lee bridged the game to the 9th with one unearned run over three innings for his second hold while Jhon Romero worked around a walk in the 9th for the save, his second. Cole Freeman singled twice to extend his hit streak to seven games while Jackson Cluff drove in two with a double and a sacrifice fly to lead the Harrisburg offense.

Wilmington scored in six of eight “ups” as they blew past Bowling Green, 10-1 to stop a four-game slide. Joan Adon picked up his fourth win while registering his second quality start, allowing the Hot Rods’ run on three hits and two walks while fanning eight. Davis Moore (2IP) and Kyle Hinton (1IP) combined for three scoreless innings to close it out. Yasel Antuna singled, doubled, and homered while newcomer Drew Millas went 3-for-5 with two RBI in his Blue Rocks debut.

Seijas became the first 10-game loser as he was, um, pecked for seven runs on nine hits (one HR) and a walk over three and 2/3rds innings. He fanned two. Zach Cornell reached base four times with a single, double, and two walks while Onix Vega got on three times with a walk, single, and a double to lead the 10-hit, six-walk offense.
