A one-out error and a two-out, three-run HR turned a would-be 2-0 win into a 3-2 defeat for Rochester. Josh Rogers pitched into the 7th with just three hits and no runs allowed. He left with one out and one on. Gabe Klobosits stranded that runner and retired all five batters he faced. Dakota Bacus gave up the aforementioned HR for his second blown save and third loss. The Red Wings managed just six hits and four walks, with Jake Noll the only player with multiple hits (two singles). Roster moves: C Jakson Reetz reassigned from Harrisburg; IF Carter Kieboom placed on 7-Day I.L.; RHP Nick Goody assigned from Washington; RHP Ryne Harper, LHP Kyle Lobstein optioned from Washington.

Walks were the undoing of Cade Cavalli as two of the six he issued came around to score as Harrisburg fell to Reading, 4-1. The Nats’ top prospect lost for the third time in three AA starts as he labored through four and 2/3rds innings on 95 pitches (47 for strikes) and gave up the first two Fightin runs on three hits. He struck out six. Gilbert Lara and Cavalli hit back-to-back doubles with two outs to end the shutout bid. Gage Canning led the Sens hit column with two singles while Aldrem Corredor drew both Harrisburg walks. Roster moves: C Allan Berrios reassigned from Fredericksburg.

The BlueClaws put the pinch on the BLue Rocks with three spots in the 1st and 4th innings en route to a 7-0 shutout. Joan Adon took his second straight loss with six runs allowed on six hits (one HR) and three walks over four innings. Tanner Driskill gave up the extra point (OK, fine: a solo HR) and three hits over three innings. He walked one and struck out three. Drew Mendoza (two singles) and Armond Upshaw (single, walk) were the only two Wilmington batters to reach base twice in the team’s seventh shutout loss of the season.

It was a grand finish, thanks to Kevin Strohschein, as the F-Nats shot down the Cannon Ballers, 7-3 in 10 innings. The Samurai Slam paid dividends on eight and 1/3rd scoreless innings of relief after rehabbing Seth Romero was smoked for the three Kannapolis runs on three hits, a walk, and three wild pitches over an inning and 2/3rds. After Leif Strom stranded two while cleaning up the mess in the 2nd, Mitchell Parker shut down the Cannon Ballers on three hits over six scoreless innings. The win went to Davis Moore after retiring all six batters he faced in the 9th and 10th innings. Strohschein also doubled and singled and drove in five total while Geraldi Diaz and Ricardo Méndez both went 2-for-4 to lead the Fredericksburg offense. Roster moves: LHP Seth Romero, SS Jackson Cluff reassigned for MiLB rehab; C Mason Doolittle transferred from FCL.
