Free-agent pickup Matt Tomshaw turned in a quality start with six innings of one-run ball on a solo HR and five hits total. The loss went to Nick Wells, who issued a leadoff walk to start the 8th, got his one and only out on a sacrifice, then gave up a triple and a single. Aaron Barrett finished the 8th with a double play and retired the side in order in the 9th. Jecksson Flores singled once, doubled twice, and scored the final Red Wings run in the 8th. Jake Noll’s 10th longball accounted for the only run as Rochester was an abysmal 1-for-11 with RISP and left on 12 baserunners.

Joan Adon went the first five innings and gave up four runs on four hits (one HR) and a walk while hitting two batters. He struck out four in his seventh no-decision. Opening Day starter Karlo Seijas made his minors-leading 16th start and let in four runs on six hits and a walk over five innings. It was his 9th loss, tying him with former teammate Mitchell Parker. Bryan Peña dug the hole three runs deeper in two innings before Tomás Alastre put up two goose eggs to finish the game.
