The Red Wings and Bisons waited for nearly an hour before the game was suspended with Rochester leading Buffalo 2-1. They’ll finish up this afternoon, then play a seven-inning game afterward. Harrisburg rallied for three in the 8th to tie it at 4-4 but was walked off an inning later for a 5-4 loss to Reading. Tim Cate completed seven full innings for the first time this season but was dinged for four runs on two homers and four hits total. He walked one and struck out four. The loss went to Frankie Bartow as the Fightins made him pay for a two-out wild pitch with a two-out single. On offense, the Sens did their best imitation of Earl Webb with five doubles – two apiece by Jake Alu and Gage Canning and one by K.J. Harrison, who also homered.

The Blue Rocks went to town on the BlueClaws pitchers, scoring in each of the first four innings as they cruised to a 10-2 victory. It’s the first time they’ve won games consecutively since June 16-17. Alfonso Hernández labored through five and 1/3rd innings, giving up two runs on four hits (one HR) and two walks, but picked up the win – his first since June 9. Led by Andrew Karp (1⅔ IP), a trio of Wilmington relievers combined for 3⅔ scoreless innings. Every Blue Rock batter had a hit, including homers by Israel Pineda (10th) and Jeremy Ydens (2nd). Justin Connell led the 15-hit parade with three singles while Ydens and Omar Meregildo both drove in three.

Thanks to another 106 minutes of rain delay, the Low-A East curfew rules, and the fireworks, they were only able to complete the suspended game last night in Fredericksburg. They’ll play two tonight instead. The Cannon Ballers picked right up where they left off and scored in five of the seven innings played for a 14-2 shelling of the F-Nats. Bryan Peña, who had given up “only” one run in his previous appearance, reverted to the mean as the 21-y.o. retired just one of eight batters faced and gave up four runs on five hits while walking two. The F-Nats broke up the shutout with a run in the 2nd and pushed across another run in the 8th as they collected nine hits total, led by Jackson Cluff and Junior Martina with two singles each. Roster moves: C Mason Doolittle retired.

Jackson Rutledge emerged from witness protection to made his first appearance since May 21st in the FCL Nats’ 5-4 loss to the FCL Cards. Rutledge was charged with the loss as he allowed two runs on a home run following a two-out walk. He began the inning with two strikeouts. Andry Lara made his second appearance, with four innings of one-run ball on six hits and no walks while striking out four. Sammy Infante connected for his first professional HR with a leadoff shot in the 1st and went 2-for-5 with two runs scored. 20-y.o. Wilfrido Matos also had two hits and a walk but the rest of the lineup went just 3-for-21 with three walks and 10 strikeouts. Roster moves: RHP Jackson Rutledge assigned from Wilmington for MiLB rehab.
