Rochester Red Wings (14-22, 5th, 10GB, Northeast Div. AAA East)
Rochester’s 4-2 week against Lehigh Valley coupled with Syracuse’s current seven-game tailspin has gotten the Red Wings into 5th place! Meanwhile, for the second straight week a Rochester player earned “of the week” honors, with Tyler Eppler getting the nod for his seven scoreless innings against the Iron Pigs on June 9.
Harrisburg Senators (12-23, 6th, 13½GB, Southwest Div. AA Northeast)
The Senators return to City Isle for six against the Fightins after a 2-4 week against the Flying Squirrels. Harrisburg remains in last place in the Southwest Division but has more wins than half the Northeast Division. Sources tell us that—and $2—gets them a coffee.
Wilmington Blue Rocks (18-16, 3rd, 2GB, North Division, High-A East)
Wilmington’s 3-2 effort against Jersey Shore has gotten the Blue Rocks two games over .500 and just two games out of first place. They’ll have their chance to move up as the tied-for-first-place Brooklyn Cyclones come to town for six at Frawley Stadium. But it’ll have to be without their ace Cade Cavalli, who has reportedly been promoted to AA. Tonight could be – it’s his turn to pitch based on his usage this far this season &ndash the debut of Alfonso Hernández, who was also promoted yesterday.
Fredericksburg Nationals (11-25, 4th, 13GB, North Division, Low-A East)
The F-Nats broke even against the Red Sox but dropped another ½ game off the pace in their division. Mitchell Parker became the first two-time Pitcher of the Week in the Low-A East this season, garnering the award for his six shutout innings on Saturday against Salem.
