Four Rochester pitchers combined on a two-hit, 2-0 shutout of Buffalo. Sean Nolin was the first man out and fanned five over two and 2/3rds scoreless innings while only putting on one runner with a walk. The win went to Kyle Lobstein with three perfect innings and four whiffs. Dakota Bacus worked around a single in the 9th for his first save of 2021. The Red Wings ‘pen needed to be near-perfect as the offense was limited to three hits – Daniel Palka’s 9th HR and a single and a double by Jake Noll – and two walks (Gerardo Parra and Carter Kieboom). The Senators took the fight out of the Fightins with three in the 3rd and four in the 4th for a 7-2 win on a Wet Nose Wednesday. Andrew Lee picked up his first win in more than two years as he held Reading to a run on HR and three hits total over five innings. He walked none and set down seven on strikes. Following two scoreless by Pearson McMahan, Matt Cronin got touched for his second career HR allowed with a solo shot in the 9th while making his AA debut. Aldrem Corredor was a triple shy of the cycle as he drove in five while going 3-for-4. The other two RBI came courtesy of Corban Joseph’s two-run single as Harrisburg tallied eight hits and drew five walks on the afternoon.

If you missed the 6th inning, you missed all the action as all seven runs came in that frame as Wilmington downed Brooklyn, 5-2. Alex Troop went the first three and blanked the Cyclones while issuing a walk, giving up two hits, and striking out five. Amos Willingham was credited with the win, though he let in both Brooklyn runs on two-run HR and five hits total over three innings. He walked none and fanned five. Chris “Chevy” Vann (1⅔ IP) and Reid Schaller (1⅓ IP) combined for the last three innings to pick up the hold and save, respectively. Three Blue Rocks went 2-for-4, with Yasel Antuna and Gage Canning both driving in a run to lead the ten-hit, three-walk offense.

The Hillcats scratched the F-Nats for four in the 7th and two in 8th to break open a one-run game and take this one, 8-3. Rodney Theophile made his first appearance since June 1st but was ineffective, giving up two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out three. The loss went to Bryan Peña with the aforementioned four runs on four hits (one HR) and two walks over five innings. He struck out six. The F-Nats took advantage of two wild pitches and two errors to score three times on just three hits, though one was Jackson Coutts’s first HR as a pro. The others were singles by Jeremy Ydens and Jake Boone.
