Rochester extended its winning streak with a 10-6 win over Worcester. Tyler Eppler went the first five innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hit (one HR) and two walks while striking out four. Kyle Lobstein got the benefit of the Red Wings’ four-run rally in the bottom of the 6th, which was highlighted by back-to-back doubles by Jake Noll and Brandon Snyder and capped off by the third of Humberto Arteaga’s four singles. Roster moves: OF Carlos Tocci, IF Jecksson Flores reassigned from Harrisburg.

Tim Cate returned from a 15-day hiatus to toss five innings of one-run ball and earn his second “W,” as the Senators doubled up the Curve, 4-2. Cate walked none and struck out four. (The law firm of) Pearson McMahan and Jhonatan German both put up a goose egg to earn a hold (the first for each) while Gabe Klobosits was touched for a solo HR in the 9th while picking up his third save. Jakson Reetz reached base four times and scored twice to lead the Harrisburg offense. Roster moves: LHP Tim Cate activated from Developmental List.

Wilmington broke out for four runs in the top of the fifth to take a 4-2 lead but collapsed in the late innings for an 8-4 loss that extended their current slide to six games. Alfonso Hernández labored through five innings, letting in two runs on four hits and four walks while striking out three. The loss went to Malvin Peña, who gave up the tying run in the 8th for the blown save, then gave up a leadoff triple in the 9th followed by two intentional walks and… you know it… a grand slam in the 9th for the loss. Yasel Antuna doubled, tripled, scored a run, and drove in a run while Jake Alu singled twice to pace the Blue Rocks offense.

Michael Cuevas’s last start as a teenager was a stinker: nine runs on seven hits, including two homers, over just two innings as the F-Nats were obliterated by the Shorebirds, 14-2. Cuevas walked one, struck out, and hit a batter. José Sánchez broke up the shutout with a two-run double in the fourth. Kevin Strohschein and Ricardo Méndez both singled twice as Fredericksburg was held to six hits total on the night.
