The Red Wings got solo HRs from Luis García, Carter Kieboom, and Yadiel Hernandez and the pitchers were able to make it stand for a 3-2 win over the Woo Sox. Sterling Sharp’s control problems persisted, as the 26-y.o. issued six walks for the second straight start, but also rolled a pair of double plays to limited the damage to two runs on seven hits. He struck out two while picking up his second win. T.J. McFarland led a trio of relievers who blanked Worcester of the last four innings to earn the save. García left with an apparent oblique injury in his second PA. Humberto Arteaga pinch-hit and played SS the rest of the game.

Altoona walked off Frankie Bartow with a two-run HR for a 4-3 win over Harrisburg. It was the first blown save and the second loss for Bartow. Sens starter Mario Sanchez also gave up a two-run HR and two hits total over six innings for his fourth straight quality start and sixth overall. He walked one and struck out six. Harrisburg scored twice on sacrifices – a sac fly by Cole Freeman in the 6th and a suicide squeeze by Ali Castillo to score Jecksson Flores. The third run scored on a wild pitch. Flores and Carlos Tocci both had two singles to lead the Senators hit column of eight.

For the second time in three nights a five-run lead was too small for the Blue Rocks bullpen. It’s not clear who held the beer for Zach Brzykcy, who gave up the last eight runs on eight hits (one HR) over an inning and a 1/3rd. It’s also a good question as to why he was sent out to pitch the 8th after giving up four runs in the 7th. Evan Lee made the start but was lifted after four and 1/3rd innings and 88 pitches thrown. He let in three runs on five hits and a walk while striking out six. Jake Alu singled twice and doubled once while Drew Mendoza knocked out two more safeties. Omar Meregildo and Israel Pineda both homered as the Blue Rocks collected ten hits total.

Delmarva jumped on Karlo Seijas for three runs in both the 1st and 2nd innings and cruised to a 6-3 win in Game 4 of the series. Seijas became the first six-game loser in the system with all six runs charged to him (three earned) on five hits (one HR) and three walks. He struck out two. Aaron Barrett worked around a walk in the 6th while Gilberto Chu set the side down in order twice to keep things within striking distance. The F-Nats got the tying run to the plate in the 9th as J.T. Arruda singled and Onix Vega doubled to start the inning. Ricardo Méndez tapped a high bouncer to short that he beat out for a single but Arruda stumbled and was thrown out on a 6-3-2 play for the first out. Neither Kevin Strohschein, who had homered twice to account for all three F-Nats runs, nor Jeremy De La Rosa could push across Méndez or Vega as they both struck out to end the game.
