Rochester vs. Lehigh Valley – PPD
The Red Wings and Iron Pigs didn’t wait long – roughly a half hour – to pull the plug as rain delayed Game Four of the Rochester-Lehigh Valley series. They’ll shoot to make it up with a doubleheader tonight. Roster moves: RHPs Jefry Rodriguez, Andrés Machado added to Washington 40-man roster; OF Yadiel Hernandez optioned from Washington.

After an 89-minute rain delay, Harrisburg broke out the bats to triple up Richmond, 6-2. Luis Reyes came on after a scoreless inning from Pearson McMahan (who “started” in case the rains came back) and was a two-way threat. On the mound, he tossed five innings of two-run ball on four hits (one HR) and two walks while fanning eight. At the plate, he doubled in two runs and scored one himself in the Sens’ three-run fourth inning to break a 1-1 tie. Thanks to three scoreless innings from the ‘pen and a two-run homer from Jakson Reetz in the 9th, Reyes became the first starting pitcher in the system to win three games.

Three Blue Rocks pitchers combined for 15 strikeouts and a four-hit shutout of the Blue Crabs, 2-0. Joan Adon led the way with the first six innings pitched, racking up eight whiffs, walking two, and giving up three hits for his second “W.” After a goose egg from Jordan Bocko, Malvin Peña withstood two errors and struck out five of eight batters faced to earn his second save. Andrew Pratt’s solo HR in the 4th broke the 0-0 tie while a wild pitch in the 8th sent home Gilbert Lara for the second run. With the win, Wilmington hit a high-water mark of TWO games over .500. Roster move: LHP Sean Nolin assigned from Rochester for MiLB rehab.
Fredericksburg vs. Salem – PPD
Roughly 370 miles to the southwest of Allentown, rain and wet grounds also claimed the game in Salem, Va. A doubleheader has been scheduled for tonight to make up the rainout.
