Buffalo scored in each of the first three innings to build a 6-0 lead and cruised to a 7-1 win over Rochester. Tyler Eppler was like a bad toupee, not fooling the Bisons again for five runs on six hits (one HR) and two walks for his fifth loss. Bryan Bonnell led another solid-but-wasted bullpen effort (6IP, 2R), allowing one run on three hits and a walk over four innings. Daniel Palka singled three times while Adrián Sanchez and Rafael Bautista both doubled. The trio accounted for all six hits as the rest of the lineup went 0-for-19 with three walks. Roster moves: LHP Ben Braymer designated for assignment; OF Gerardo Parra reminded GM Mike Rizzo of the incriminating photos added to the 40-man roster; IF Luis García optioned from Washington.

The Senators got a late FG but lost in the series finale, 7-3. Carson Teel lost for the second time in three starts, touched for four runs on nine hits (one HR – #11 in 44⅔ IP) and two walks. He struck out three. K.J. Harrison broke up the shutout with a two-run single in the 7th, his third of the game while Aldrem Corredor plated the third run with an RBI single in the 8th. Drew Mendoza also reached base three times with a pair of singles and a walk.

Alfonso Hernández was much less of a mystery to Brooklyn as they solved him for 11 hits, including four HRs in a 13-1 win over Wilmington. Hernández gave up five runs total over six innings while taking his first High-A loss. Amos Willingham (6R) and Jordan Bocko (2R) were also knocked around as the Cyclones scored in each of the last four innings. Justin Connell was the sole batter to reach base twice, scoring ahead of Jake Alu’s double in the 3rd to briefly tie the game at 1-1.

The F-Nats blew a 7-0 lead to fall behind 9-7 before Jeremy Ydens tied with a two-out, two-run HR in the bottom of the 9th to send it to extras. Kevin Strohschein delivered the game-winner in the 10th to secure a 10-9 win and stop a four-game slide. Michael Cuevas struck out a career-high nine batters in his second Low-A start, allowing just one run on two hits and a walk. He left with a 7-1 lead that Michael Merrill (4R) and Gilberto Chu (4R) coughed up before Matt Moore delivered a pair of scoreless innings, which earned him his second win. Ydens also homered in the 3rd, as did Geraldi Diaz as Fredericksburg pounded out 13 hits and drew seven walks on the afternoon.
