Rochester dug out from a 3-0 deficit early with single runs in the 7th, 8th, and 9th innings before striking for three in the 10th for a 6-3 win over Buffalo. Tyler Eppler gave up all three Bisons runs on seven hits (one HR) on seven hits and three walks over five and 2/3rds innings. Kyle Lobstein, Justin Miller, and Kyle McGowin combined for four and a 1/3rd scoreless innings of relief, with the “W” going to McGowin. Yasmany Tomás’s second double of the night plated the go-ahead run while Daniel Palka’s two-run HR in the 10th provided the margin of victory.

A three-run 3rd snapped a 1-1 tie as the Flying Squirrels held on for a 5-3 win in the series opener. Mario Sanchez lost for the second time in as many starts as he let in the first four Richmond runs on five hits (one HR) while striking out six. Harrisburg squeezed three runs out of six hits, highlighted by Ian Sagdal’s 9th inning HR.

Joan Adon pitched into the 6th and gave up an unearned run on four hits and three walks for the no-decision. Tyler Dyson followed, stranding two to begin his three and 2/3rds but gave up the tying run in the 9th on a solo HR. The win went to Alex Troop as the 24-y.o. southpaw struck out two in the top of the 10th. Jacob Rhinesmith singled twice and walked twice to lead the Blue Rocks offense.

The F-Nats opened their ballpark with a 7-5 loss to Delmarva for their seventh straight loss. Jake Randa’s two-run HR highlighted a three-run 1st that gave Fredericksburg just its third lead of the season. It lasted for six innings until the Shorebirds went boffo on Jordan Bocko for four runs in the 7th to tag the 24-y.o. with the blown-save-loss. The F-Nats scored a season-high five runs on nine hits and three walks, led by Landon Dietrich’s three singles and Onix Vega’s two walks.
