Carson Teel became the first Nats minor-leaguer to throw a quality start, but the bats weren’t there in a 4-1 Harrisburg loss. Teel gave up three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four in his first loss. Kevin Tapani finished with an unearned run over the last three, with two hits and two walks allowed. Jackson Cluff singled in the 3rd and homered in the 6th, but the rest of the lineup went 2-for-27 with Ian Sagdal and Nick Banks each collecting a single. Jacob Rhinesmith’s two-out solo HR turned out to be just enough for the Blue Rocks to edge the BlueClaws, 1-0. Cade Cavalli turned in another five scoreless innings, allowing one hit and three walks and striking out eight. Zach Brzykcy got the “W” as he finished up the game, including a high-wire act in the 9th as an error, walk, and a passed ball put runners on second and third with nobody out. Brzykcy got a popup to short for the first out, issued an intentional walk to load the bases before collecting his sixth and seventh whiffs of the night to end the game.

Fredericksburg dropped its eighth straight with a never-a-doubt-about-it 17-3 loss to Delmarva. Pedro González gave up two runs in each of his three innings thrown, allowing six hits (one HR) and two walks while striking out three. Jake Arruda singled twice while Geraldi Diaz singled once to account for all three F-Nats hits, four of their six walks drawn, and two of three bases stolen.
