The Mets limited the Red Wings to just four hits for another shutout, 2-0, to take the series, 4-2. Roger Armenteros let in the lone Syracuse run on four hits and three walks while striking out five. He was rewarded with his third loss. Three relievers combined for four shutout innings, but the offense couldn’t push across the one (1) baserunner the offense was able to get into scoring position. Adrián Sanchez singled twice, while Alec Keller had one safety and Armenteros had the other. Roster moves: RHP Kyle McGowin, IF Luis García optioned from Washington.

The Sens dug out of a 5-1 hole with a four-run 5th but couldn’t complete the comeback as they fell in extras, 6-5. Starter Carson Teel was smacked around for five runs on six hits (two HRs) over four innings. He walked two and struck out four. The loss went to Gabe Klobosits, who was saved by a ground-rule double in the bottom of 7th and struck out two to get out of the jam, only to let in the game-winner on a two-out infield single in the 8th.

No such drama in the nightcap as the BaySox pounded the Sens, 9-2 to take the series, 4-1. Luis Reyes didn’t make it out of the 4th as Bowie sliced him for seven hits and seven runs over three and 2/3rds for his third “L” of the year. Aldrem Corredor took the team RBI lead (8) as he plated Cole Freeman with a single in the 6th to break up the shutout. Harrisburg finished with three hits and six walks total for the game.

Greensboro returned the favor from Saturday night as they shut out the Blue Rocks, 13-0 in the finale to split the series, 3-3. Cole Henry went the first three innings and gave up a run on a home run and two hits total. He struck out six and walked none while throwing 41 pitches, 27 for strikes. The game was not streamed and neither Greensboro nor Wilmington have a media relations employee, so there is no information from which to glean why Henry’s outing was only three innings. Kyle Marinconz broke up the perfect game bid with a walk in the 3rd. Gage Canning broke up the no-hitter with a single to lead off the 6th.

Mitchell Parker dominated the Wood Ducks again, striking out 12 in six no-hit innings as Fredericksburg took the game, 7-2, and won the series, 4-2. Parker needed just 93 pitches to get 18 outs and even issued a walk and hit a batter. Tanner Driskill lost the no-hitter and the shutout with two runs allowed in the 7th. Pedro González turned in his first clean outing of 2021 with a 1-2-3 eighth, a feat matched by Jordan Bocko in the 9th. Rehabbing Jecksson Flores led the F-Nats offense with three singles and a double while driving in three, followed by Jake Randa’s two singles and Jackson Coutts’s two RBI.
