Marlins Hook Nats, 8-5

Miami struck for three in the 1st and never looked back as they kept Washington winless in 2021 spring training with an 8-5 decision.

Erick Fedde made his second appearance and retired just three of seven batters in his lone inning of work, giving up the aforementioned three runs on a double, walk, and a homer. He would give up four hits total and was charged with the loss.

Tres Barrera was the sole watchlist player to get the starting nod and caught the first six innings. He went 1-for-3 on offense and failed to throw out the lone baserunner who attempted to steal for the Marlins.

Kyle Finnegan is the first of the pitching conga line this afternoon in Port St. Lucie as the Nats take on the Mets. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN.
