Nats Don’t Lose, 3-2

After botching a suicide squeeze with one out, Emilio Bonifácio delivered the game-winning run with a two-out single to end a five-game winless streak with a 3-2 Washington win over Miami yesterday afternoon.

As predicted, Joe Ross got the start and cruised through three scoreless innings, allowing a hit and a walk while striking out two. Daniel Hudson blew the save with two runs on three hits in his spring debut.

The quintet of Wander Suero, Javy Guerra, Fernando Abad, J.B. Shuck, and Kevin Quackenbush each put up a goose egg to close out the game for five innings of no-hit relief. Quackenbush earned the coveted ST “W.”

Taylor Gushue and Yadiel Hernandez started the game at catcher and in left field, respectively. Gushue went 0-for-2 with a strikeout while Hernandez went 0-for-3 with an RBI.
