• Noll 2-4, R

With last place in the division secured, Fresno can now focus on finishing with the worst record in the league. Losing again, 9-1 to El Paso, is a step in that direction. Paolo Espino got the start and gave up a run in the first and then pitched three scoreless innings. That was good enough to earn the loss, as the Chihuahuas ran wild in the 6th to score seven runs and put the game away. The Grizzlies broke up the shutout in the 7th on three singles and finished with seven hits total. Jake Noll had two of them in four trips to the plate while Chuck Taylor connected for Fresno’s only double and drew one of its two (2) walks.
Roster moves: RHP Logan Ondrusek placed on the 7-Day I.L., retroactive to Aug. 16; RHP Paolo Espino activated from the 7-Day I.L.

The Sens took advantage of three walks to score five times in the 5th and break a 1-1 tie as they took the opener from the ‘Ducks, 7-4. Eduardo Vera made his first appearance since being released ten days earlier and the rust showed as Akron got to him for three runs on four hits and three walks over a four and a 1/3rd innings. Jhonatan German picked up the win in relief with a single scoreless inning, as did Greg Holland for the hold, and Aaron Barrett for the save. Ian Sagdal, Dante Bichette Jr. and Luis Garcia combined for six hits, three runs, two doubles, and six RBI to pace the Harrisburg offense.

Potomac – OFF DAY
With its final scheduled off day yesterday, Potomac will finish the season with seven games at home and seven games in Frederick, beginning tonight with three at Harry Grove Stadium. The P-Nats trail the Red Sox by 2½ games and lead the Hillcats by three in the second-half title race. Wilmington, the first half winner, is a 1/2 game behind Potomac and trails Salem by three. The P-Nats can make the playoffs if they win the second half or if they finish second behind the Blue Rocks. In the event of a tie with Salem, Potomac holds the tiebreaker with a 6-0 head-to-head record in the second half.

Hagerstown – OFF DAY
The Suns return home for a pair of three-game series against the Southern Division cellar-dwelling Drive and the Northern Division leading Shorebirds. At 23-26, .500 for the second half is within reach but last place is also possible as Hagerstown leads Lakewood by only two games.
