Fresno scored in five consecutive innings while limiting Albuquerque to two runs (on two HRs, duh) in an 8-2 win. J.J. Hoover struck out a season-high of 11 while giving up five hits total over seven innings to earn his fifth win. Sam Freeman made his first appearance as a Grizzly, pitching a scoreless 8th while fanning two and James Bourque set the side down in order in the 9th. Yadiel Hernandez led the 15-hit parade with four hits, including his 29th HR, followed by Jake Noll with three singles, and Alec Keller with two doubles. Brandon Snyder also hit #29 while Collin Cowgill came off the bench again to hit a two-run HR, his 12th.

The Sens pitchers outdueled the Seawolves moundsmen for a 2-1 win, Harrisburg’s 5th straight. Kevin McGowan went the first five and gave up Erie’s run on four hits and two walks while setting down five on strikes. Jordan Mills (1IP), Jhonatan German (2IP), and Aaron Barrett (1IP) combined for four scoreless and hitless innings for the win, hold, and save respectively.
Luis Garcia tripled and scored on an Adrián Sanchez sac fly in the 4th to tie it at 1-1 while Andrew Stevenson singled, stole second, and scored on Sanchez’s second hit of the night in the 6th for the gamewinner.

Auburn was formally eliminated from the NYPL playoffs with an 8-2 loss to West Virginia. Carlos Romero remains winless in 10 starts as he was mauled by the Black Bears for six runs on seven hits and two walks over four and 2/3rds innings. The 20-y.o. Venezuelan struck out three while taking his fifth loss. J.T. Arruda and Ricardo Mendez both had two singles to lead the Doubledays’ eight-hit offense.

West Virginia rallied for four in the 6th to erase a 5-2 deficit and sweep the doubleheader with a 6-5 win. Gilberto Chu got the spot start and went the first four innings, giving up two on three hits, no walks, and eight K’s (a career high). The loss went to Rafael Gomez, who let in the aforementioned four runs in the 6th (all unearned) on three hits and two walks over the last three innings. Landerson Peña doubled, rippled, and drove in two while Jose Sanchez and Jerem Ydens both wen 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI to lead the Doubleday attack.
