And in the 7th inning, both teams rested – the first in which neither team scored as the Grizzlies outslugged the Chihuahuas, 11-9. Erick Fedde threw six slow-pitch innings, holding El Paso to two singles, three doubles, and three homers for seven runs to win his first AAA game. He walked and struck out seven and got in on the hitting with a single and a walk. Carter Kieboom and Yadiel Hernandez both had two singles and a homer and combined for four runs scored and six RBI to lead Fresno’s 13-hit parade.

Jackson Tetreault spun six innings of two-run ball while the Harrisburg offense remained in gear for an 11-2 win over Richmond. Tetreault walked two and gave up five hits while striking out four, though he did need 101 pitches to get 18 outs. Bryan Bonnell (2IP) and Aaron Barrett (1IP) combined for three scoreless to finish the game. Luis Garcia stroked four singles in five trips to the plate while Rhett Wiseman singled twice and doubled once to drive in three and notch his first three-hit game since May 2.

Bryan Mejia’s grand slam in the top of the 4th tied it at 4-4… just in time to ensure a suspended game as the rain came soon thereafter. They’ll finish this one tonight and then play a seven-inning game.

The Hagerstown ‘pen turned in six and 2/3rds scoreless innings to set up a 7-5, come-from-behind win. Jackson Stoeckinger was sent packing after one out in the third and all five Greensboro runs let in on seven hits, including a two-run HR. Angel Guillen stranded three runners while cleaning up the mess and tossed five more scoreless innings, walking none and striking out seven to pick up the win, his first. Jared Brasher worked around a walk by striking out the side in the 9th to earn his first save. Kyle Marinconz launched a three-run HR to give the Suns an early 3-0 lead while going 2-for-4 overall, as did Drew Mendoza and Jacob Rhinesmith as the Suns were stellar with RISP – 5-for-7 with just four runners left on.
Roster moves: OF Rafael Bautista reassigned from Auburn; OF Armond Upshaw placed on the 7-day I.L. No word on what the injury to Israel Pineda was.

Auburn 6 West Virginia 4

The Doubledays jumped out to a 5-0 lead after three and held on for a 6-4 win, their third straight. Leif Strom wobbled through five and 2/3rds innings, giving up all four Black Bears runs on five hits (two homers) and a while fanning two to pick up his second win. Gilberto Chu let one of those runs while getting out of the 6th but held West Virginia scoreless in the 7th an 8th to get the hold while Pearson McMahan pitched a 1-2-3 ninth to earn the save. Wilmer Perez struck the big blow with a two-out, three-run HR in the 3rd. Caldioli Sanfler led the Auburn hit column with two doubles and a triple, followed by Jake Alu with two singles.
