The Grizzlies built a 4-1 lead after 3½ innings, but the Isotopes scored eight runs without an answer for a 9-4 win. Logan Ondrusek evened his won-loss record at 4-4 with five runs allowed on seven hits (two HRs) and three walks over five innings. He struck out four. Carter Kieboom’s three singles led the 12-hit Fresno parade, followed by Matt Reynolds with two safeties, while Andrew Stevenson’s 17th double and 6th HR extended his hit streak to nine games.

An ugly four-run 4th carried Harrisburg past Bowie for a 5-3 win in the series finale. The BaySox committed three of their five errors in the inning, enabling the Sens to score four times on just two singles. The meltdown helped Tyler Mapes get an early birthday present (28 today) with his fourth win on five innings of three-run ball on three hits and two walks while striking out five. Luis Sardinas drove in three with a two-run single in the 4th and sac fly in the 2nd while Dante Bichette Jr. went 2-for-5 with a run scored to lead the Sens’ six-hit, six-walk (three by Spencer Kieboom) offense.

Tomas Alastre held Francys Peguero’s beer as he served up five HRs to Greensboro for another 9-3 smackdown of Hagerstown. The 21-y.o. extended his organizational lead in losses to 10 with eight runs (all earned) on nine hits and three walks over four innings. Phil Caulfield broke up the shutout with a 5th inning HR, his second at Low-A and third overall. The Suns were held just six hits, with Drew Mendoza the sole batter to collect two.

With just three hits on offense, it’s hard to point the blame elsewhere as Batavia shut out Auburn, 11-0. Tyler Dyson lost his NYPL debut as the Muckdogs got to him for three runs on three hits and a walk over two innings. Following four scoreless from longtime Doubleday Gilberto Chu, Nelson Galindez was lit up for five runs in the 7th and sent out for more punishment in the 8th, which Batavia delivered with three more runs. As aforementioned, the Doubledays kept the game moving (2:18) with just five baserunners – a double by Caldioli Sanfler, singles by Jeremy Ydens and Andrew Pratt, and walks by Jose Sanchez and Anthony Peroni.
