The Aviators let loose on the Grizzlies for seven runs in the 8th to turn a 5-3 deficit into a 10-5 win. Ben Braymer wobbled through four and 2/3rds innings, walking five and giving up three runs on six hits, including two solo HRs. He struck out three in his AAA debut. The loss went to one of Fresno’s two All-Star representatives Dakota Bacus, who retired just one of seven batters faced for the blown-save-loss. Matt Reynolds homered and doubled while José “Orange” Marmolejos and the other Grizzlies All-Star Yadiel Hernandez both went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.

Harrisburg briefly led this one, 3-1 before Akron chipped away with single runs to take a 4-3 lead then put the game away with three in the 7th, two in the 9th to take the series finale, 9-3. Mario Sanchez was knocked for three runs on five hits and a walk while striking out four in a no-decision. Brady Dragmire suffered the loss with four runs let in on four this over two innings. Chuck Taylor accounted for the three Sens runs with a three-run HR while Adrián and Ian Sagdal led the hit column with two hits apiece.

After a shaky first two innings, Kyle Johnston shook off Mr. Hyde and went Dr. Jekyll on the Blue Rocks in a 6-3 P-Nats win. Johnston gave up two in the 1st on former Washington farmhand Blake Perkins’s seventh HR in 184 games at High-A and one run in the 2nd before settling down to throw five scoreless to notch his eighth win and ninth quality start. Jhonatan German was nearly perfect, working around the third of three Potomac errors in the 8th to earn his third save. Jakson Reetz remains hot in the month of June (1.161 OPS) drove in four and racked up
six total bases with a double and his 4th (all this month) HR to lead the P-Nats attack.

A 3-3 tie went bye-bye in the 8th as Hickory broke out for four runs and completed the three-game sweep with a 7-3 win over Hagerstown. Angel Guillen made the spot start and was hooked for three runs on four hits (two HR) and two walks over four innings while striking out five. After three scoreless from Chandler Day, Jacob Howell threw in-game BP for four runs on five hits in the 8th to lose his first game of the year. The Suns managed to squeeze three runs from five hits and five walks without any Hickory errors. Cole Daily drove in two with a sacrifice fly in the 2nd and a single in the 7th while Cody Wilson his fifth HR in the 3rd.

Rafael Bautista homered twice and drove in three to power the Doubledays past the Crosscutters, 5-2. Leif Strom turned in five innings of one-run ball on four hits, no walks, and four K’s to earn the “W.” Nelson Galindez put up two goose eggs for the hold while Tyler Yanofsky worked around a hit in the 9th for a save in his pro debut. Wilmer Perez led the non-rehab batters with two singles and a double, followed by Jake Randa and Adalberto Carrillo, who both had a single and a double.
