The Grizzlies got eight runs in the 4th and two in the 6th en route to a 10-4 frosting of the Baby Cakes. Paolo Espino won his third straight decision and sixth overall with three runs allowed (one earned) on three hits, no walks, and seven strikeouts. George Kontos, James Bourque, and Michael Blazek combined for three and a 1/3rd innings of relief with one unearned run (Bourque) two walks (alas, also Bourque) and five K’s. Yadiel Hernandez homered twice the 4th and drove in four while Carter Kieboom doubled twice, walked once, and plated two to lead Fresno’s 11-hit parade.

Harrisburg and Binghamton traded punches for the first two innings before settling into a 5-5 tie through five. Tyler Mapes wobbled through those innings and gave up those runs (three earned) on seven hits, two walks, and one Victor Robles while striking out three. Then Trevor Rosenthal came in. His resurgence from Tuesday continued with two consecutive K’s… then the reversion to the mean came with a double and a homer that would be the eventual 7-5 outcome in favor of the Rumble Ponies. Luis Garcia (and Harrisburg) reached base for the third (and final) time in the 7th before Binghamton’s ‘pen slammed the door shut with nine outs over the next eight batters. Garcia, José Marmolejos, and Chuck Taylor each had two hits to lead the Harrisburg offense.
Potomac – OFF DAY
After a 5-2 road trip capped off by a sweep of Salem, the fourth-place Potomac Nationals opened up a 6½ game lead over the last-place Red Sox. The P-Nats return to Woodbridge tonight for the first of four against the third-place Hillcats, which will be followed by three against the Southern Division-leading Wood Ducks.

Lakewood completed the sweep of Hagerstown with another shutout, this one, 3-0 on two hits. Tomas Alastre gave up the first BlueClaw run on two hits and two errors (one by Jose Sanchez, the other by Alastre) over six inning to notch his fifth loss. Angel Guillen came on after Alastre and put the game away for Lakewood with two runs coughed up in the 7th. Cole Daily broke up the no-hitter with a one-out double in the 4th and was caught stealing third while Nic Perkins led off the 5th with a two-bagger and watched the next three batters fail to hit out of the infield. Ricardo Mendez was the final Suns baserunner with a two-out walk in the 8th.
