El Paso 4 Fresno 1
• McGowan 5IP, 5H, R, ER, 5BB, 5K, HR, 104-62 PIT-K
• Self (L, 2-1) 1⅓ IP, 5H, 3R, 3ER, 0BB, 0K, HBP
• Alvarez 1⅔ IP, 2H, 0R, BB, 0K, 3-0 IR-S
• Hernandez 1-3, 2B, BB
• Kieboom 1-4, 2B

Fresno’s woes, which have been on and off the field, continued with a 4-1 loss to El Paso. Kevin McGowan walked five and gave up five hits over five innings but somehow managed to allow just one run (on a home run) in his second start for the Grizzlies. The loss went to Derek Self as the Chihuahuas bit him for three runs in the 8th on five hits, which could have been worse as Henderson Alvarez3 stranded three while escaping the bases-loaded, one-out jam with a double play. Fresno was held to just five hits for the third straight game, with Carter Kieboom and Yadiel Hernandez collecting the two (2) extra-base hits.

Harrisburg 8 New Hampshire 4 (6½ inn.)
• Tetreault 2+ IP, 5H, R, ER, 0BB, 0K
• Condra-Bogan (W, 2-1) 3IP, 3H, 3R, BB, 5K, HR
• Rosenthal (H, 2) 1IP, 1H, 0R, 2BB, 2K, 27-11 PIT-K
• Sagdal 2-3, R, 2B, HR, 5RBI
• Marmolejos 1-2, 2R, 2BB, RBI
• C. Taylor 2-2, 2R, BB

Ian Sagdal drove in five with a double in the 4th and an Earl Weaver special in the 5th as the Sens doubled up the Fisher Cats, 8-4 in a rain-shortened game. It was the first back-to-back wins for Harrisburg since May 14-15. Jackson Tetreault left after taking a comebacker (H/T @Mayflies) off his throwing hand/arm to start the 3rd inning after the New Hampshire had strafed him for a run on five hits over the first two innings. Jacob Condra-Bogan got the benefit of Sagdal’s largesse with three runs let in on three hits and a walk though he did set down five on strikes. The game went 6½ innings but might have gone the distance were it not for Trevor Rosenthal’s 27-pitch 6th inning in which the sunk cost gave up a hit, walked two, and struck out two. José “Orange” Marmolejos and Chuck Taylor both reached base three times as the Sens collected eight hits and four walks in six “ups.”

Potomac – OFF DAY
Potomac will finally play its ninth different opponent after 50 games with a four-game series against Myrtle Beach, then three against Salem. The P-Nats have a chance to eliminate the Pelicans from the first-half race and perhaps even to get to .500 on the road as they play the two teams with worse records in the Carolina League for the next seven games.

Delmarva 5 Hagerstown 4
• Tapani (L, 2-4) 4⅔ IP, 7H, 5R, 3ER, 0BB, 5K, HBP
• Day 2⅓ IP, 0H, 0R, BB, 2K, WP, 1-1 IR-S
• Jo. Sanchez 3-4, R, RBI, E(13)
• Connell 1-3, R, BB, HR, 2RBI, SB

A four-run 5th erased a 2-1 Suns lead as the Shorebirds held on for a 5-4 win to take the series, 4-1. Ryan Tapani was knocked from the box in the 5th with all five runs charged against him (three earned) on seven hits and no walks. He struck out five while taking his fourth loss. Chandler Day let in one inherited runner but combined with OT Turner to shut down Delmarva the rest of the game. Jose Sanchez led the Hagerstown hit column with three singles, scoring a run and riving in a run, while Justin Connell drove in two with his second HR, walked and stole his first base of 2019.
