The Grizzlies clawed the Isotopes for four runs in their first and last “ups,” as they took the series 3-1 with a 10-3 triumph in the finale. Paolo Espino picked up his third win while being charged with all three Albuquerque runs on six hits (one HR) and two walks over six and 2/3rds innings. He fanned a season-high of eight. Tanner Rainey let in one of two while getting out of the 7th and struck out the side in the 8th to earn his first hold. Like the Beatles in ’71, four guys went solo with Collin Cowgill hitting his 9th in the 1st, Matt Reynolds leading off the 5th with #5, Jacob Wilson smacking #13 two batters later, and Raudy Read going deep with one out in the 8th.

Harrisburg left Trenton, um, thunderstruck as they scored five times in the bottom of the 8th to erase a 3-1 deficit and held on in the 9th for a 6-4 win. Tyler Mapes notched a quality start of three runs let in on six hits and a walk while fanning a season-best nine. After Trevor Rosenthal worked out Tres Barrera in the 7th, Joan Baez pitched a scoreless 8th and wobbled through the 9th to earn the win. Ian Sagdal reached base three times with a walk, single, and a double and drove in two while Chuck Taylor and Barrera both connected on two-run doubles in the 8th to lead the Senators offense.

The Wood Ducks turned a botched sacrifice into an error and the P-Nats lone run but still took the game, 3-1. Andrew Lee labored through five innings on 90 pitches, giving up two runs (one earned) on four walks and six K’s to lose for the second time. Potomac managed just six hits, with Nick Banks the only batter to reach base twice—a single and a double, extending his hit streak to seven games—and went 0-for-9 with RISP. Trea Turner went 1-for-4 with two whiffs while clearly favoring his injured finger; he was fine on defense, turning a double play, applying the tag on two putouts on a steal attempts, and making two 6-3 plays – one lollipopped, the other a jump-throw bullet.

Joan Adon went the first five and allowed a run on two hits and two walks while fanning three. O.T. Turner fanned two and worked around a hit in the 6th for the hold in his 2019 season debut. Tapani gave up three hits total and struck out three while working both the 7th and the 8th for the blown-save-loss. Gilbert Lara singled, doubled, scored a run, and drove in a run while Trey Vickers went 2-for-4 with a run scored to lead the Suns offense.
