Fresno vs. Sacramento – PPD
After not having a rainout in nearly four years, Fresno had its second in less than a week. They’ll shoot for two this afternoon to make it up.

The Curve got five runs on five hits in the 3rd off Sterling Sharp as they easily handled the Sens, 8-2. Sterling Sharp gave up six hits total and walked three as he lost for the third time. Joan Baez spun two scoreless before Altoona lit up Aaron Barrett for three runs in the 8th to put the game out of reach. Harrisburg was held to two runs and six hits, unable to capitalize on eight chances with RISP to leave six men on base. Spence Kieboom singled, doubled, and drove in one on a sacrifice fly while Chuck Taylor singled and homered. The rest of the lineup went 2-for-25 with two walks.
Potomac 7 Wilmington 3 – GAME ONE

For the second time this week, Nick Raquet ran out of gas in the 6th, but this time there was more than enough offense to cover for him and his successor as Potomac took the opener, 7-3. Raquet gave up all three runs in the inning, with just one earned thanks to a questionable call on a would-be 6-4 putout that was ruled safe, and thus an error. Hayden Howard came on with the bases loaded and one out and Barraclough’d two of ’em in while getting the last two outs and pitched a scoreless 7th to finish the game. Cole Freeman reached base three times with two singles and a walk while Gage Canning and K.J. Harrison both tripled to lead the P-Nats attack.

Like well-read copies of Scientific American at the EPA, back-to-back wins remain hard to find for the P-Nats as they dropped the nightcap, 4-3. Carson Teel made the spot start and threw four hitless innings, giving up a run in the 4th on a leadoff walk, a wild pitch, and a pair of sacrifices (hit, fly). Following a scoreless inning by a rehabbing Tony Sipp, Bryan Bonnell was knocked around for three runs to push the Blue Rocks lead to 4-1. Potomac got back two in the 6th a pair of bases-loaded walks but also struck out twice with the tying run 90′ away. They went in order in the 7th for loss #25. After back-to-back scoreless outings, Tomas Alastre reverted to the mean with a thud in a Hagerstown 9-4 loss to Hickory. Alastre retired the side in order in the 1st then none of seven batters faced in the 2nd, as he gave up four hits and three walks with five of ’em coming around to score as he lost for the third time. The Suns made it look closer than it really was with three in the bottom of the 9th as they collected eight hits and three walks for the night, with Justin Connell leading the hit column with two singles.
