Fresno dealt Reno a three-spot in the 1st and never trailed in a 9-5 win. Paolo Espino picked up the win, his second, on three runs allowed on seven hits over seven innings. He walked none and struck out five. Brandon Snyder reached base five times and fell a triple shy of the cycle as he drove in two and scored three times while Carter Kieboom doubled, homered, and walked to lead the Grizzlies’ 10-hit, seven-walk barrage.

The Curve blunted Sterling Sharp and the Sens as they scored in each of the first five innings en route to a 10-5 win to stop Harrisburg’s seven-game win streak. Sharp was charged with seven runs on 10 hits and two walks over just three and 2/3rds innings to lose for the second time this season. Drew Ward doubled three times, drove in one and scored twice while Bryan Mejia and Ian Sagdal both hit solo HRs to pace the Senators offense.

Potomac’s grip on 4th place continues to slip as they dropped an 11-5 stomach-emptier to Salem. Staked to a 3-0 lead after two, Nick Raquet came unstrung in the 3rd as he let in four runs on four consecutive two-out hits as he lost for the third time in four starts. After Justin Miller “worked on some things” for a run on two hits (homer, double) in the 4th, Grant Borne was knocked around for six runs on eight hits over the 5th and 6th innings to put the game out of reach. Cole Freeman extended his hit streak to ten games with two more singles, which was the same (hits, not streak) for Telmito Agustin and Anderson Franco while David Masters an Armond Upshaw both doubled once to round out the P-Nats’ hit column.

Israel Pineda struck out to leave KJ Harrison at 3rd and the Suns’ first baseman was picked off second in the 5th as the Drive held on to a 4-3 lead to win the continuation, 6-4. Angel Guillen let in one run over four innings as the de facto starter while Jackson Stoeckinger gave up the last Greenville run over the final two frames. The Suns batters stuck out 14 times and were just 1-for-10 with RISP with eight men left on.

We are unable to confirm that this picture was taken after last night’s game, but Francys Peguero could not have been pleased as Jhonatan German coughed up the tying run in the 7th and the winning runs in the 8th as Greenville won the second game of the night, 4-2. Peguero struck out a career high of eight while tossing six innings of one-run ball on three hits and a walk. German was charged with the blown-save-loss with three runs allowed (two earned) on five hits over two innings thrown. Jacob Rhinesmith singled twice and drove in a run while Pablo O’Connor singled and doubled to pace the Hagerstown offense.
