Las Vegas 9 Fresno 8
• Espino 4IP, 8H, 7R, 7ER, BB, 3K, 3HR
• Hoover 3IP, 0H, 0R, 2BB, 4K
• Rainey (BS, 3; L, 1-1) ⅔ IP, 2H, 2R, 2ER, 3BB, 1K
• Keller 3-5, 2R, RBI
• Stevenson 3-5, R
• Kieboom 2-3, 2BB, 3RBI

After the offense came back from a 7-0 deficit to take an 8-7 lead, a hard-throwing right-hander with control problems blew it in the 8th. No, Jimmy Cordero didn’t pitch again… No, Trevor Rosenthal wasn’t on rehab… No, Joan Baez wasn’t promoted… It was Tanner Rainey’s turn to notch the blown save (his third in four appearances) as he gave up the tying and winning runs in the 8th for a 9-8 Grizzlies loss. Matt Reynolds was the beer man as Fresno pounded out 15 hits, led by Alec Keller and Andrew Stevenson, who both went 3-for-5 while Carter Kieboom reached base four times with a pair of singles and two walks.

Harrisburg 4 Bowie 2
• Sharp (W, 1-1) 5IP, 7H, 2R, 2ER, BB, 3K
• Bourque (SV, 1) 2IP, 1H, 0R, 2BB, 3K
• Ward 1-4, R, HR(GS), 4RBI
• Barrera 1-3, 2B, BB

Sterling Sharp was good enough and Drew Ward was grand as the Senators won for the eighth time in nine games, 4-2 over the BaySox. Sharp turned in five innings of two-run ball on seven hits and a walk while striking out three to pick up the win. Mario Sanchez and Ronald Pena each put up goose for their first hold while James Bourque put on three baserunners in two innings but struck out three to notch the save. Ward’s grand slam with two outs in the 3rd was one of just four hits on the night for Harrisburg, which also drew four walks.

Potomac 6 Winston-Salem 3
• Tetreault (W, 2-0) 5IP, 4H, R, ER, 3BB, 4K
• Fuentes 2IP, 1H, R, ER, 2BB, 4K, WP, HBP
• Agustin 2-4, R, 2B, BB, RBI
• Corredor 2-5, 2B, 3RBI
• Meregildo 1-3, R, 2B, BB, RBI, 2K

Potomac jumped out to a 2-0 early then pushed it to 6-1 lead with a four-run 4th which the bullpen held to stop a four-game losing streak. Jackson Tetreault won for the second time in as many starts as he spun five innings of one-run ball on four hits and three walks while fanning four. A.J. Bogucki and Steven Fuentes both gave up a run over two innings to finish the game. Telmito Agustin and Aldrem Corredor combined for four hits and four RBI as the P-Nats squeezed their six runs from eight hits and five walks without an error or a hit batsman.

Hagerstown vs. Asheville – PPD
Rain, which washed out 15 home games and six road games last season, “won” its first against the Suns as it forced the first postponement of 2019. They’ll shoot to make it up this afternoon with a twinbill.
