Batting practice usually comes before the game, but someone forget to tell Henderson Alvarez3 as the Aces got to him for nine runs on 11 hits—five home runs—in a 15-5 demolition of the Grizzlies. Jordan Mills didn’t fare much better as he got the last out of the 4th and then pitched to five batters in the 5th without retiring any of them, walking three and giving up one hit (a grand slam). Brandon Snyder homered twice while going 3-for-4 while Yadiel Hernandez singled twice to pace the Fresno offense.

Believe it or not, this was a 1-0 game until the 8th, when Harrisburg dropped four on Hartford to take a 4-1 lead. The Yard Goats got to Aaron Barrett for one in the 8th and two in the 9th to force extras, where the Sens scored six times in two frames and James Bourque wobbled through two shake innings to pick up the blown-save-win. Luis Sardinas and Chuck Taylor both came off the bench to single twice and combined for five RBI to lead Harrisburg’s 14-hit parade.

Despite digging out from the usual hole that Luis Reyes puts them in, the P-Nats couldn’t prevent the Red Sox sweep as they fell in 10 innings, 7-6. Reyes pitched a season-high five innings and tied his season-low of five runs allowed on six hits and three walks while striking out one (1). Andrew Lee three scoreless innings of relief but the decision went to Steven Fuentes, who was charged two runs – both unearned as Anderson Franco botched a would-be groundout to end the 10th for a two-run error. Nick Banks drove in Jakson Reetz to lead off the 10th for this fourth hit of the night, which included a two-run HR off the base of the LF foul pole. Franco got his shot at redemption after a David Masters whiff but grounded into a 4-6-3 double play to end the game.

A three-run 5th for Greensboro broke open a 3-2 game as the Grasshoppers doubled up the Suns, 6-3 in the series opener. Tomas Alastre took the loss, giving up the first three Greensboro runs on six walks and two hits, including a two-run HR, over four innings. He struck out four. It was a hard Day’s night for Chandler, who let in the last three runs on five hits and one walk, with three wild pitches over four innings. Justin Connell was the sole batter to have multiple hits, going 2-for-3 with an RBI as the Suns racked up seven total and drew four walks.
