Jimmy Cordero undid seven innings of shutout ball by the Austins in just six batters as he turned a 3-0 lead into a 5-3 deficit in the… wait for it… 8th inning. Carter Kieboom got one of them back on single, his third hit and third RBI of the afternoon, but Jake Noll and Yadiel Hernandez both grounded out to end the game and leave the tying run on third base for a 5-4 Fresno loss to Salt Lake City. Voth struck out seven and allowed one hit and one walk over five innings for the no-decision while Adams fanned four, walked none, and gave up one hit over two innings for the hold. Kieboom homered and doubled while going 3-for-4 while Matt Reynolds and Andrew Stevenson both had two singles to lead the Grizzlies attack.

Erick Fedde, Jordan Mills, and Aaron Barrett combined on a no-hitter as Harrisburg shut out Bowie, 2-0 to take the series opener. Fedde walked a batter, hit batter and struck out five over the first six to earn the win, Mills walked one over the next two for the hold, and Barrett set the side down in order in the 9th for the save. Rhett Wiseman went 3-for-4 with an RBI while Ian Sagdal singled, walked, and scored a run to pace the Sens offense.

Potomac starting pitcher Grant Borne left with an apparent injury after just four batters, retiring just one. Andrew Lee let in one inherited runner and two of his own as he tossed four and 2/3rds innings relief, giving up seven hits and a walk while fanning four. Hayden Howard took the loss on the aforementioned longball as he was charged with the last three Winston-Salem runs on six hits and a walk over two and 1/3rd innings. Telmito Agustin and Cole Freeman combined for six hits, five runs scored, two doubles (Agustin) and two walks (Freeman), and two stolen bases (one each) to power the P-Nats offense.

Hagerstown busted out for five in the 1st and cruised to an 8-2 win over Asheville in the home opener. Jake Irvin needed 87 pitches to retire 14 batters as he allowed the first Tourists run on four hits and two walks. Carson Teel picked up the win as he allowed the second Asheville run on three hits over the next two and 2/3rds innings. He walked none and struck out five. KJ Harrison scored three runs and drove in two while going 2-for-3 while Kyle Marinconz doubled twice in three trips to the plate and plated three to lead the Suns’ nine-hit, three-walk offense.
